The 2026 Austin Film Society Grant for Short Films is now accepting applications. Texas-based filmmakers can apply for up to $10,000 in cash, plus in-kind production and post-production support for projects under 40 minutes.

Tonight, we’re celebrating local storytelling and local talent.

Our friends at Griffyn.co, Corpus Christi natives Matthew and Denise Thornton, are premiering Ullberg: Wind in the Sails on KEDT. The documentary tells the story of renowned sculptor Kent Ullberg, whose iconic wildlife sculptures have become landmarks throughout Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend.

From public spaces to waterfront views, Kent’s work has helped shape the visual identity of our community for generations. We're excited to see his story brought to the screen by filmmakers with deep roots in South Texas.

📺 Ullberg: Wind in the Sails premieres tonight, June 22, at 9:00 PM on KEDT.

Production is rolling in Corpus Christi 🎬

This week, the Corpus Christi Film & Music Commission had the opportunity to visit the set of a major commercial filmed entirely in Corpus Christi. From crew trucks parked in local neighborhoods to full production setups in our community spaces, it was exciting to see the city transformed through the lens of a working production.

One of the best parts of the visit was connecting with the crew, many of whom are Corpus Christi locals working across camera, lighting, grip, production, and more. Seeing local talent hired on professional productions is exactly the kind of growth we want to continue building here.

Big thanks to the production team for welcoming us to set and for choosing Corpus Christi as the backdrop for their project.
