Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

There’s nothing quite like spending time at the beach with these two. Dogs bring so much joy, loyalty, and love into our lives.

Today is also a good reminder of the important work our Animal Care Services staff, shelters, rescues, and volunteers do every day to care for animals throughout our community.

Wishing all of Corpus Christi’s four legged friends a very happy National Dog Day!

District 5 is strong because of the people who call it home.

As a family physician, I have had the privilege of seeing firsthand the hard work, resilience, and dedication of the people in our community. I’m running to bring that same people first approach to City Council and to work for a stronger District 5.

Seeing Corpus Christi move back to Stage 2 water restrictions is encouraging news! Every bit of progress matters, and the recent rainfall has certainly helped.

At the same time, we can’t mistake temporary relief for a permanent solution.

Our city still needs a dependable, long term water strategy. As your City Council representative, I’ll continue advocating for responsible investments in our future water supply, including support for Harbor Island or Barney Davis as preferred desalination locations, while ensuring residents know the costs before major decisions are made.

Good news deserves to be celebrated but our work isn’t finished.

Earlier this week, I officially filed to become a candidate for Corpus Christi City Council, District 5!

This campaign is about putting Water First. People Always.

As a family physician, local business owner, and former public servant, I’ve spent years serving our community. Now, I’m asking for the opportunity to continue serving in a new way, by working for responsible leadership, reliable water solutions, stronger infrastructure, and a city government that listens to its residents.

I’m grateful for everyone who has encouraged and supported this campaign so far. This is just the beginning, and I look forward to meeting more of you over the coming months.

Welcome to the new official Elect Dr. Sooda page!

My previous campaign page was compromised and is no longer active. This is now the official page for my campaign for Corpus Christi City Council, District 5.

Corpus Christi is home. My wife and I raised our three daughters here, built our lives here, and opened our local clinic here. As a physician, husband, father, and public servant, I am running to bring steady leadership, responsible spending, and a resident first voice to City Hall.
