The Central Arizona College Police Department is proud to announce that Lt. A. Rodriguez has successfully graduated from the FBI National Command Course (NCC) in Quantico, Virginia.

Chief F. Alanis believes in developing strong leaders and investing in the future of our department. That commitment is why he nominated Lt. Rodriguez for this prestigious program. Participation in the National Command Course is by nomination and selection only, making it a significant professional achievement.

The FBI National Command Course was developed in 2020 to provide executive-level leadership training for leaders of smaller law enforcement agencies. More than 80% of law enforcement agencies in the United States have fewer than 50 sworn officers, and the NCC was created to provide these agencies access to nationally recognized executive leadership training.

The program focuses on critical leadership topics including:

• Strategic Leadership
• Image Management
• Officer Wellness
• Preventing Targeted Violence

The National Command Course brings together law enforcement leaders from across the country to strengthen leadership skills, enhance public safety, and build partnerships between agencies and the communities they serve.

Please join us in congratulating Lt. A. Rodriguez on this outstanding accomplishment and his continued dedication to professional development and leadership excellence.

In recognition and celebration of our Nation’s 250th Birthday, the Central Arizona College will be issuing a commemorative badge for wear during the 2026 calendar year.

This specially designed badge honors the founding of the United States and incorporates several important historical symbols. Featured prominently is Thomas Jefferson standing over the Declaration of Independence, representing the enduring principles of liberty, democracy, and individual rights upon which our Nation was founded. The badge also includes the original 13 Colonies flag alongside the current United States flag, symbolizing the remarkable journey of our country from its earliest beginnings to the strong and united Nation we serve today. Together, these elements serve as a reminder of the sacrifices, vision, and commitment to freedom that have shaped American history over the past 250 years.

As law enforcement professionals, it is important that we recognize and honor historic milestones such as this. Police officers across this Nation swear an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution and the freedoms established by our Founding Fathers. The 250th Anniversary of the United States is not only a celebration of our Nation’s history, but also a recognition of the values, service, and sacrifices that continue to preserve public safety, liberty, and the rule of law today.

The Central Arizona College Police Department was proud to host the Arizona Gang Investigators Association (AZGIA) One-Day Training here at Central Arizona College.

The training brought together law enforcement professionals from agencies across Arizona to discuss gang investigations, intelligence sharing, and public safety collaboration. It was a great opportunity for agencies to network, train, and continue building partnerships that help keep our communities safe.

CACPD would like to thank AZGIA, all of the presenters, and everyone who attended and helped make this training a success. We are always proud to support professional development and continuing education within the law enforcement community.

🚧 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – SIGNAL PEAK CAMPUS 🚧

As many of you have noticed, there is a lot of construction activity happening around campus right now. We know the traffic changes and parking closures can be inconvenient, but they are in place for construction safety and for the safety of our students, staff, visitors, and crews working on campus.

🅿️ CURRENT OPEN PUBLIC PARKING LOTS:
✅ A Parking Lot
✅ J Parking Lot

⛔ ALL OTHER PARKING LOTS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED

➡️ Access to certain campus areas, including the V Building, is available through the East Gate.

When available, CACPD Community Service Officers (CSOs) are also offering courtesy rides from the open parking lots to different areas around campus to help students and staff get where they need to go.

There is a lot of exciting work happening around campus right now, including:
🏗️ Tearing down the old Pence Center as part of the campus improvements
🎭 Construction of the new Cultural and Performing Arts Center
☀️ New solar panel structures being installed over parking areas
🌵 Continued campus beautification and renovation projects

You may also see CACPD police officers, police aides, and CSOs out assisting with traffic control, escorts, and helping students safely navigate the campus during construction.

We truly appreciate everyone’s patience while these improvements are being completed. The future of Central Arizona College is looking amazing, and we are excited to see it all come together.

If you need assistance while on campus, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Central Arizona College Police Department at 📞 520-709-0131. We are always here to help.

Stay safe, Vaqueros! 🤠🚔

🎓🎉 Congratulations to the Central Arizona College Class of 2026! 🎉🎓

The Central Arizona College Police Department is incredibly proud of all of our students who walked across the stage and graduated this year! Graduation is one of the biggest and most exciting events we have every year, and it is always an honor for our department to be a part of it.

From the students reaching this huge milestone, to the staff and faculty working hard behind the scenes to make graduation special, this event truly shows what the CAC family is all about. We are proud to help provide security and support during such an important day and help make it a safe, memorable, and well-earned celebration for everyone involved.

We also want to give a huge shoutout to two of our very own CSOs, Alexandra Winiarek and Olivia Bartrina, as they graduate from Central Arizona College and move on to universities! 🎓💙

These two were more than just students. They were dedicated volleyball players, Community Service Officers, and role models who balanced athletics, academics, and serving the CAC community. Their hard work and dedication to helping fellow students, staff, and the local community did not go unnoticed.

To all of our graduates — congratulations on all your hard work and dedication. We cannot wait to see where life takes you next! 👏🎓

And to all the students returning next semester, we hope you have an amazing summer and we will see you back on campus soon!

As always, if you ever need anything, your Central Arizona College Police Department is here for you. 💙

Here are some photos from the recent mass casualty training event at Central Arizona College.

The Central Arizona College Police Department would like to thank the nursing department for hosting this important training event. We always appreciate the opportunity to train, especially alongside other departments and programs across the college.

Training like this gives everyone involved a real-world look at how emergency situations are handled and how different teams work together during a critical incident. From law enforcement response to medical treatment and patient care, these scenarios help prepare everyone for real-world situations while building teamwork, communication, and coordination.

Thank you to all of the students, staff, officers, and volunteers who participated and helped make this training a success.

The Central Arizona College Police Department recently conducted an active shooter training scenario at Central Arizona College alongside the college’s nursing program.

Here at CACPD, we believe in training for the worst so we can be prepared to protect our students, staff, and community during a real emergency. During this scenario, officers responded to an active shooter incident, worked to quickly eliminate the threat, clear the building, and secure the area so fire and EMS personnel could safely enter and begin evaluating and treating the wounded.

This type of realistic training is critical. It helps our officers build teamwork, communication, decision-making, and real-world response skills under pressure. It also gives our nursing students and participating staff valuable experience working during a simulated mass casualty event.

We hope a tragedy like this never happens on any campus, but if it does, we want our officers trained, prepared, and ready to respond. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this training successful.

Hey you all 🚓🔥

The Central Arizona College Police Department had an incredible time hosting the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run out at our Signal Peak Campus! This event is part of a nationwide movement where law enforcement officers carry the “Flame of Hope” to raise awareness and support for Special Olympics athletes—and we were proud to be a part of it right here at CAC.

We were especially excited to have participants join us from Creative Cafe, an amazing local spot that provides meaningful job opportunities and support for individuals with special needs. Seeing them out there walking the campus and carrying the torch alongside us made this event even more special.

A huge shoutout to Officer Secrist for putting this event together and helping raise funds through T-shirt sales across Central Arizona College—great work bringing everyone together for such an important cause!

We also had support from our CSOs and the CAC Track & Field team, who helped make the event run smoothly. After the run, participants were able to relax and enjoy donuts and some classic Eegee’s drinks while spending time together and celebrating the event 🍩🥤

The silent auction was a hit, with some awesome prizes, and of course, K-9 Hudson was right in the middle of it all—more of a “fun run” for him—handing out plenty of paws and love 🐾❤️

Thank you to everyone who came out, supported, donated, and made this event a success. Events like this show what community is all about, and we’re proud to stand alongside Special Olympics athletes and advocates.
