Got to keep our trash truck clean, DEP/EPA rules state we need to have a wash pit that the water run off goes right into a sewer line so the water can be filtered and not have a negative impact in our waterways. But recent storms have clogged our pit so the guys were cleaning it this morning in preparation of a nice bath for the truck today. WCPW doing our best to keep the waterways clean.

On Wednesday August 18th. Road closures for Storm Inlet Replacement. 7am-4pm

Inlet replacement at Elizabeth St and Apple St. This project will require the following roads to be closed.

Elizabeth St from Ford St to Moorehead Ave
Apple St at Elizabeth St
Moorehead Ave at Elizabeth St

No parking signs will be posted for Elizabeth St

Public Works crews will be replacing 3 over the next couple of weeks on Elizabeth St.

While we are not involved in the rebuilding of the Balligomingo mud slide area, here’s some progress. We are understanding that May is the projected reopening. Wish we had more info, we do not know what else is being done above the stone. I am sure when it’s all completed it will be secure and safe for travel on Balligomingo road.

Latest project. Removed the sign that had been hidden behind bushes and fading bad. Sanded, repainted and sealed. New home at the main entrance for all to see. Just a little pride for our parks.

This would divide the town into two sides using the main road as the divider.

***PUBLIC WORKS ANNOUNCEMENT***

Due to a mechanical issue with our Trash Truck, trash collection will take place tomorrow for both sides of town. We apologize for the inconvenience. Any concerns or questions please feel free to ask.

Trash collection will begin as normal. Once the weather changes, we will evaluate the need for the crew to salt and plow and may have to suspend trash till tomorrow.

The Public Works crew was out first thing this morning lying a coating of salt prior to the storm. Hopefully this helps when the white stuff begins to fall. Hearing a slight shift north may lessen the amounts for us. But as weather has shown, it could be more or none at all. Either way, be safe and we will be here when it starts and we’ll after it ends. Bulk trash collection with be tomorrow 11/21. This will be the last bulk pick up for the year. 2020 schedule begins in January and will be the last Thursday of every month.
