After months of uncertainty, we are glad to announce that City Council has finally voted to unfreeze our step pay. Back in September, the decision to freeze steps created real concern for many of us who rely on those incremental increases as part of our financial stability and career progression.

This reversal is a step in the right direction. It shows that voices were heard, concerns were acknowledged, and that advocacy matters.

Thank you to everyone who spoke up and stayed engaged throughout this process.

Thank you to our city council and our city leaders!

The best stats coming out of the weekend are that ZERO vehicles were reported to be burglarized and ZERO vehicles were reported stolen the entire weekend. Great job to all involved!!

We want to thank all the visitors who came to town for the Lone Star Throwdown and chose to abide by the law and stay out of trouble. We hope you had a great stay in Conroe!
The Conroe Police Department increased staffing on Friday, February 20, and Saturday, February 21, with officers working from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM each night. Our officers were out ensuring the motoring public stayed safe and that our community’s property was protected.
Here are the Conroe PD stats from this past weekend:
• Traffic Stops: 121
• Citations Issued: 71
• Warnings Given: 61
• Arrests: 14 (3 for DWI)
• Vehicles Towed: 8
• Patrol Checks 247
• Reports of Burglary of Motor Vehicles: 0
• Reports of Vehicle Theft: 0
• Stolen Vehicles Recovered: 1
Regarding large parking lot meetups that can get out of hand, we are happy to report that none occurred within Conroe's city limits. Officers conducted numerous patrol checks of business and hotel parking lots throughout the weekend to deter large gatherings and ensure property was not vandalized or vehicles were not burglarized. We are also happy to report that there were zero fatalities during the Lone Star Throwdown weekend.

Thank you to all the agencies involved and to everyone who helped make this a safe and enjoyable weekend in Conroe.

💙 DEPUTY KENNETH LEWIS 💙
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office has announced the line-of-duty death of Deputy Kenneth Lewis, who succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a passing vehicle while assisting a stranded motorist on I-10 near Eldridge over the weekend. Deputy Lewis was in uniform at the time, stopping to help someone in need — and paid the ultimate price in service to his community.

TMPA stands with the Lewis family and with everyone in the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office as they grieve this devastating loss.
