Well it's election-eve, I'm very blessed and want thank you for your support! No matter what happens tomorrow, I can tell you, everyday I spent in office, was in the best interest for Commerce Township. I've Listened, Lead and Delivered

Commerce Township is definitely in better shape with local, county, state and federal support then when I came to office. This, because I fight everyday, every night and weekend for you! Some think this is a 4 day a week position, I can attest, it is not.

No matter your political view, if you haven't voted yet, go out and vote tomorrow. Our forefathers fought for us to have this right.

Have a great evening! Re-Elect Larry Gray Commerce Twp Supervisor

We are diligently working to clear up this trash collection mess. I just got off a call with Priority (one of many). I'm told we will have the proper amount of trucks to service Commerce Township next week, but there is still catching up to do. There's light at the end of the tunnel.

We posted the following on our Commerce Township page.

Hello Commerce residents,

We would like to give you an update of the Priority Waste purchase of GFL. Some residents have been largely affected, some moderately, and some not at all. In any case, the purchase has had a less than desirable impact on the Commerce Township community.

We understand the frustration of calling Priority Waste customer service and waiting 30 minutes to speak to a representative, if at all. This is unacceptable. We are working every minute of the day with Priority Waste with complaints they are receiving, but the ones coming into the Township as well.

So, where are we? Priority Waste continues to repair damaged trucks received from GFL, and return them to service. The issues with the trucks received from GFL were: missing axles, gasoline placed in diesel fuel tanks, leaking hydraulic lines, just to name a few. Priority mechanics are working hard to get
the trucks fixed and they are contracting with outside companies to speed up the repair process. Priority Waste has also rented trucks and purchased new ones to cover this gap. They are hopeful to be back on schedule in the next couple of weeks.

What can we do in the meantime about the poor service? For the next few weeks until Priority is at 100%, please continue to call their customer service line with issues. If, after calling Priority, you are still experiencing delayed service for more than 48 hours past your pick-up day, please contact Supervisor Larry Gray at [email protected] or 248-960-7070. He will contact Priority Waste and get you scheduled for pick up.

What has Commerce Township done due to the poor service? We’ve contacted GFL stating that we will not be paying the June bill due to poor service for the month of June. We will start discussions with Priority Waste on concessions shortly. Any funds we receive back, or do not have to pay, will be credited
to the next trash billing cycle on the 2024 winter taxes.

We apologize for any inconvenience the purchase of GFL by Priority Waste has caused.

Residents have asked, what exactly is the Lystek System in our wastewater treatment plant you keep mentioning actually do? Yesterday, Lystek shared a national press release with the following video https://youtu.be/N9q_bIsf0Ic This 7-million-dollar project comes to Commence Township with ZERO cost to the users. The project was paid by a 2 million dollar grant I received from the federal government, American Rescue Plan dollars, and a low-interest rate loan that will be paid back with the dollars we use to pay for hauling and disposal fees. This is another innovative project completed during my term.

I wanted to share a brief quick recap of the series with accomplishments during my time in office called, Did You Know? Please feel free to read the entire series here on my page.

We worked with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office to add staff to the SONIC team, HIDTA, and school resource officers. In 2023 Commerce Township was ranked the 35th safest City/Village/Township in the United States.

Bringing the community together was one of my top priorities. We have added 3 new community events. They are, Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, Easter Egg Hunt, and Trails and Treats. We had over 3,500 residents participate in these events. There are more to come. And don’t forget, The Village of Commerce Bicentennial on June 14th, 2025.

I have personally worked with all levels of government on behalf of Commerce Township. With this, I’ve secured over 3.5 million dollars in grants from Federal, State, and County governments. These grants were used for infrastructure projects such as Lystec in our Wastewater Treatment Plant, off-site library Kiosks, a new Fire Department training ground (coming soon), and pathway connections.

We have improved our traffic safety by working with the Road Commission of Oakland County. Multiple intersections have been upgraded with the SCATS System which allows traffic lights to speak to one another to adjust traffic light patterns during rush hour. We are also studying 7 intersections to improve traffic flow for both short-term and long term.

We have invested over 2.5 million dollars into our parks. Projects include pathway connections, pickleball courts, a complete rebuild of Bicentennial Park, and multiple upgrades to our historic Byers Farm house.

We have invested in new library programs. They include offsite kiosks, an increase in data for services, new study pods, 3D printers, and eBooks.

We have grown our Fire Department services. We have purchased new equipment, vehicles, and station upgrades and now provide Advanced Life Support (ALS).

On August 6th, vote to Re-Elect Larry Gray, Commerce Township Supervisor

Good evening everyone! Well, it looks like sign thieves have struck again, removing signs from private property owners. I’ve tallied up over 50 signs and three 3x5 foot banners stolen. If you had one stolen from your yard, please message me and I’ll get you another one.

And to those who really want my signs enough to steal them, they are free. Please message me and I’ll get you some for you to display as well.
