I’m very excited to welcome Buc-ee's to the Buckeye state! This is a tremendous investment for the Dayton area, specifically for the City of Huber Heights. It will increase tourism, economic growth, and add new job opportunities to the region.

The location is truly impeccable. It’s right off of I-70 and SR 235 and SR 4.

I’d recommend trying their brisket sandwich. It’s super delicious!

Please check out my recent editorial in the Columbus Dispatch on the Rural Health Transformation Program. This initiative was authorized by the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill Act’ that was signed into law last year by President Trump.

This program will allow states, such as Ohio, to reduce regulatory hurdles and provide an easier and less costly access to medical care across the state, specifically in rural communities.

Now, it is up to us in the General Assembly to get to work to do our part.

The General Assembly now needs to get to work to do its part for rural health care in Ohio.

Today, the brand new Wawa location in Huber Heights held their ribbon cutting and grand opening. I had the honor of making and serving the first hoagie!🥪

This year, Wawa has opened nine stores in the state of Ohio. Over the next 5-8 years, WAWA plans to build and open 5-8 stores per year in Ohio, with expectations to open 60 stores in the state.

Wawa will invest more than $7.5 million and employ, on average, 140 contractors and local partners. Once opened, each store will employ an average of 35 associates, with WAWA expecting to create 2,100 new jobs as a result of this expansion.

This will positively impact our state’s economic and workforce development, and will benefit local economies around the state, especially here in the Miami Valley.

Huffman Votes to Approve Billions in Long Term Relief for Ohio Property Taxpayers 🚨‼️

COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) voted alongside his colleagues in the Ohio Senate to pass major reforms to Ohio’s Property Tax Laws ending the unfair practice of runaway tax increases without a vote of the people.

This will save Ohio’s property taxpayers $2 billion over three years as the full force of the changes take effect.

I was proud to present a resolution during session to World War II Veteran, James Erisman on the occasion of his 100th Birthday.

Jim Erisman entered active duty into the U.S. Army on June 23, 1944, serving in the 30th Invantry Division in Europe as a bazooka specialist during the Battle of the Bulge.

On January 15th, 1945, Jim suffered from a wound to the leg and was later evacuated by a man from another unit after lying alone in a hole for quite some time.

Jim was honorably discharged shortly after and received a Purple Heart for his outstanding courage and bravery. He was also honored with the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with Two Bronze Stars, the American Theatre Ribbon, and the Combat Infantry Badge.

Jim is a national hero who courageously answered the call of duty and served our nation with honor. Jim Erisman is an exceptional Ohioan and reaching the age of 100 years old is truly impressive feat. I’m proud to have recognized Jim in front of the entire Senate.

During session, I presented a resolution to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Mary Mertz in honor of Ohio’s State Parks being named the best park system in the United States by the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration.

Ohio’s commitment to maintaining our state’s natural beauty continues to pay dividends for the Buckeye State. I’m proud to see Ohio’s Department of Natural Resources being recognized for their oversight of our incredible park system. I encourage all of my fellow Ohioans to get outside and enjoy our state’s natural wonders.

With free entry to all 76 state parks, Ohio offers more than 9,300 campsites, 1,200 miles of trails, 10 lodges, and over 7,100 educational programs annually.

Honored to have been a guardian on an Honor Flight to D.C. last week, accompanying my veteran, Ernie. Spending the day with him and so many heroes was truly humbling and a reminder of the courage and service that shaped our nation.

COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) issued the following statement regarding Governor Mike DeWine issuing executive orders banning the sale of h**p and delta IX products:

“The Senate passed a bipartisan unanimous plan that would put these products where they belong— in the ma*****na dispensaries. The Governor’s point is well taken. These highly intoxicating products should be kept out of convenience stores where they pose a significant danger to teenagers and children who may not realize the potent THC intoxication risk, and also based on the packaging, think these products are something they are not. Senate Bill 86 provides a responsible path forward.”
