Heads up if you are traveling to the Franklin County Government Center (373 S. High St.)
Starting TODAY, you will see some changes to sidewalks, traffic patterns, and parking in the area, as preparations begin for the demolition of the James A.
Karnes Building (410 S. High St.) and Dorrian Commons - between Mound Street and Fulton Street. This will make way for construction of a new Franklin County Municipal Courthouse, which is expected later this year.
Here’s where you will see the impacts NOW:
-Sidewalk closures along High Street and Fulton Street.
-Expected rush-hour lane restrictions turning left onto Fulton Street.
-New pedestrian exits and traffic flow changes in the Fulton Street Parking Garage.
The Fulton Street Parking Garage will remain open. If you are visiting the courthouses, plan ahead and allow extra time for travel and parking.
