BUILDING THE 2027 WRONGFUL CONVICTION DAY PLANNING COMMITTEE
After another powerful year of bringing awareness to wrongful convictions, EPIC – Ensuring Parole for Incarcerated Citizens is looking ahead.
We are opening the door for community members who want to help us plan, organize, promote, and grow our Wrongful Conviction Day Awareness Rally into an even stronger movement. WE WANT YOU ON THE TEAM.
We are looking for people who are passionate about:
⚖️ Wrongful convictions
📣 Criminal justice reform
🗣️ Community advocacy
👥 Organizing & outreach
📱 Social media & promotion
🎤 Events & speakers
🤝 Building community partnerships
📋 Planning & logistics
❤️ Supporting impacted families
THIS IS A VOLUNTEER POSITION.
There is no paycheck attached to this committee—but there is an opportunity to make a real impact.
Everyone is welcome to submit their interest. You do not have to be an attorney, activist, exoneree, or expert to participate.
You simply need to be willing to show up, do the work, and stand for justice.
COMMITMENT
The WCD Planning Committee will meet:
• Once or twice monthly during the regular planning period
• Biweekly during July & August as we enter the final three months of preparation
• Meetings may be held virtually when appropriate
• Additional communication may take place between meetings as needed

HELP US BUILD THE CROWD.
Every committee member should be willing to take on the challenge of bringing at least 5 new people to the next Wrongful Conviction Day Rally.
Because planning an event is only half the job.
WE NEED PEOPLE IN THE STREETS.
We want to see families, exonerees, advocates, organizations, community leaders, faith communities, students, attorneys, and everyday people standing together.
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO HELP BUILD IT.
