Ohioans are feeling the impact of higher costs every day. That’s why I voted YES to give Ohioans relief at the pump by suspending Ohio’s gas tax for 90 days.

This measure will provide an estimated $725 million in relief, which puts these dollars back where they belong: in the pockets of Ohio families.

Earlier today, Governor Mike DeWine signed this measure into law, meaning Ohioans should begin seeing the impact at the pump in the coming days.

Always a fun time at the Annual Farm Bureau Meeting!

I’m honored to once again receive the 2026 Friend of Agriculture distinction for my voting record and continued support of Ohio’s farmers and agricultural community in the legislature.

Agriculture is Ohio’s number one industry and plays such an important role in our state and local communities. I’m grateful for the hardworking farmers and families who help keep Ohio agriculture strong.

Thank you to the Ohio Farm Bureau and Butler County Farm Bureau for this recognition and for your continued advocacy on behalf of farmers across our county and state!

On Monday, Governor DeWine hosted a ceremonial signing for House Bill 20.

HB 20 aims to protect first responders at the scene of an incident by creating a buffer zone that allows them to safely, efficiently, and effectively do their jobs. The bill also increases the penalty for obstructing official business involving an emergency service responder. If the violation creates a risk of physical harm to the responder, the offense becomes a fourth-degree felony.

I was proud to sponsor this important legislation and am incredibly grateful to the first responders who joined us for the ceremony, as well as everyone who supported HB 20 throughout the legislative process.

Thank you to the men and women who put themselves in harm’s way every day to keep our communities safe!

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Last night, I had the honor of joining fire chiefs and community leaders from across Butler County for a memorial service honoring those we have lost in the fire service over the past year.

We also gathered to reflect on the 25 years since September 11, 2001—a day that forever changed our nation and the fire service.

It was a meaningful evening of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude as we honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice and remembered the commitment of all who continue to serve and protect their communities.

One of the many highlights of the Butler County Fair this past week was the Junior Livestock Sale held this past Saturday.

I was grateful to support Charlotte Mignery’s Grand Champion Market Turkey and Wyatt Conrad’s Grand Champion Market Hog, along with several other outstanding livestock projects from across Butler County and the 46th District.

It was also great to see so many elected officials, businesses, and organizations come together to support the farmers, exhibitors, and families whose hard work and dedication make every year a success!

House Bill 20 is now heading to the Governor’s desk after the House voted to concur yesterday on the Senate’s amendments. With some minor changes, the bill remained largely intact throughout the legislative process and reaffirms our commitment to protect those who protect us.

I was proud to sponsor this legislation, which creates a halo around our first responders while on scenes or investigations, ensuring they are protected with penalties for people trying to disrupt or harm them. Still taking time to reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of those who gave everything for our freedom. Memorial Day we all take time to remember and honor our fallen hero’s.

I was honored to attend and be apart of some local meaningful events this past weekend and Monday. After being apart of the Middletown Memorial Day parade, I attended the Memorial Day ceremony at Woodside Cemetery. I had the chance to meet and talk briefly with the Grand Marshall of the parade, Bruce McRoberts, whom is a proud World War II veteran and recently celebrated his 100th birthday. It was especially cool to see him receive a flag from our office that was flown over the Ohio Statehouse!

Excess tax revenues are taxpayer money. Therefore, they should be returned to taxpayers. Period.

I have long said our current homestead program here in Ohio is a “joke,” especially compared to other states. That’s why I introduced HB 103 this General Assembly — and HB 57 in the last General Assembly — to improve and expand Ohio’s homestead program for seniors and those on fixed incomes. That is real, targeted property tax relief.

Since this report came out, I have spent the last several days meeting with House leadership and colleagues on the Finance Committee to push this idea forward. Thank you to Anna Staver for taking the time to include my thoughts in the article.

Ohio collected about $1.2 billion more in taxes than expected this fiscal year, setting off a Statehouse debate over whether the money should go.
