Leading up to this weekend, which is both heavy with sorrow and radiant with gratitude, I was honored to attend and speak in Hanoverton for a Memorial Day Service to honor those who gave the ultimate measure of devotion.

In small towns all across America, we pause, reflect, and remember the names etched in stone and bronze, and the sacrifices made so that we can live freely in the best country in the world, The United States of America.

Thank you to Mayor Becky Kibler, the incredible United High School Band, Rev. Gene Hydrick, and Rev. Mark Wild for a touching day of remembrance.

May God Bless our fallen heroes and their families.🇺🇸

This week I provided Sponsor Testimony alongside my joint sponsor, Representative Kevin Ritter on House Concurrent Resolution 40, legislation urging Congress to enact the Ohio River Restoration Program Act.

The Ohio River Restoration Program Act would establish a comprehensive federal restoration initiative for the Ohio River Basin, a vital system that supports manufacturing, agriculture, shipping, energy production, tourism, and municipal infrastructure across Ohio and the Midwest. The legislation would support investments to improve the quality of drinking water, protect public health, restore ecosystems, and strengthen local economies.

This resolution sends a clear message that Ohio recognizes the importance of preserving and restoring the Ohio River, and that we support bipartisan efforts at the federal level to ensure this critical resource remains healthy and productive for decades to come.

The Carroll County Off-Site Court Student Ambassadors from Carrollton Exempted Village School District had the opportunity to come to Columbus last week! They participated in special programming focused on careers in law and civic engagement.

I had the chance to meet with the students to answer questions about state government and the legislative process. The students also attended House session and visited the Supreme Court of Ohio!

It was an honor to host Columbiana County 4-H youth at the Ohio Statehouse! Ohio State University Extension: Columbiana County took their leadership skills on the road for a visit and had an opportunity for these future leaders to see state government in action! We met with Director Brian Baldridge of Ohio Department of Agriculture, toured the historic chambers, attended House Agriculture Committee, and connected with a variety of legislators to ask questions and share how 4-H empowers young people in our local community.

I am so proud of these students and how they represented Columbiana County. The skills they are building every day are preparing them to lead for a lifetime!

Last week I was honored to visit Quaker City Concrete Products, LLC, a true family business located in Leetonia, to celebrate the installation of a new dust control system that enhances workplace safety and strengthens long-term operations. Thank you to the Ohio Air Quality Development Authority for partnering with company leadership on this project. I’m always glad to see partnerships like this come together—where we can support local businesses, protect jobs, and make sure companies have what they need to keep growing right here at home!
