Rangers,

Today, I relinquished my responsibility as Ranger 7 of the Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade.

I am extremely proud of all of you who took the opportunity to attend one of our courses.

I would like to thank all of you for fighting on to the Ranger objective and for wanting to better yourself and strengthen your units.

My focus for this page was to provide you with up-to-date information to help you prepare for a course.
I wish you the best of luck as you strive to achieve your goals of becoming a reconnaissance leader, paratrooper, jumpmaster, or Ranger.

My successor CSM Hartung will be assuming his responsibilities in Oct 2024

This page will remain open and will be monitored by our interim CSM, CSM Heflin the 4th RTBn CSM.

Medical In-processing deficiencies:
• We had two drops during in-processing.
 One was expired, past the 18 months.
 The other had a current physical but had encountered a heat injury since the completion of his physical. He was denied, due to the time since his injury. There was not enough time for his body to recover and may return in October.
• There were a few physicals that were completed by a PA that did not have a MD/DO cosignatory. Any examination complete by a PA or NP must be co signed by an MD or a DO.
• Several of the Physicals requiring waivers were either emailed to the ARTB MED inbox within a week of reporting or did not request one at all. Thankfully, all were minimal risk and were allowed in. Submit waivers with a minimum of 2 weeks of reporting, potentially including their class number if known in the subject line.
• Many physicals lacked information such as Lab values or dates for HIV draw and/or sickle cell. It would be wise for reporting students to have a printout of their labs with them. For units with a mass of students reporting, such as I-BOLC, A-BOLC, and 75th should send physical beforehand to Penney to allow them the opportunity to scrub the packets for deficiencies. This saves immensely on time during Day 0 and allows deficiencies to be handled before students even arrive.
