The birthday celebration continued on Tuesday at Fort Jackson night with the Columbia Fireflies. We had a fantastic evening enjoying our National Pastime and a hot dog or two.
The 282d Army Band's Brass Band entertained the crowd with a pre-game performance. Then Soldiers from Fort Jackson kicked things off with the first pitch, presentation of the colors and a fantastic rendition of the National Anthem.

Family day at Fort Jackson shows the Force Generation Pipeline come full circle.

Pvt. Juan Montas Diaz graduated Basic Combat Training and is off to Advanced Individual Training as a parachute rigger at the U.S. Army Quartermaster School.

What makes this moment special is the team standing with him.

On the right is 1st Sgt. Raul Cabanellas who is the first sergeant for Charleston Recruiting Company, the same unit that recruited Montas, who also happens to be Cabanellas’ brother-in-law. On the left is Staff Sgt. Ezekiel Jones, Montas’s drill sergeant, the leader responsible for transforming Montas over the last 10 weeks.

This is USAREC’s mission. From the hometown recruiting station to the hands of our world-class drill sergeants, we oversee every step of the journey. When our leaders trust this pipeline for their family members, you know the standard of excellence is absolute.

Victory Week would not be complete without inter-unit competition. The competition kicked off on day 2 with a combatives tournament.
Soldiers' ability to engage and subdue the enemy in hand-to-hand combat was put to the test.

*This competition was for permanent party cadre assigned to Fort Jackson. Trainees did not participate in the competition.

It's Victory Week at Fort Jackson a week-long celebration of the birth of Fort Jackson. In 1917, Camp Jackson was established to provide trained Soldiers to the war effort for World War I. Since then Fort Jackson has generated readiness for the Army by training and delivering Soldiers to the operational force.
This week as we celebrate our history and look to our future, we celebrate 109 years of service to the nation.

The festivities kicked off early Monday morning with the Victory Week Post Run. Post runs are a long-standing military tradition that builds esprit de corps and reminds us that while each individual may have a different role, we all have unity of mission and purpose.

The 4th Battalion, 39th Infantry regiment Family Day was full of hugs and tears as families and Soldiers reunited after more than 10 weeks of separation. This momentous occasion not only serves to recognize the accomplishments of the Soldiers but also welcomes their family and friends into the extended Army Family.

Many accounts, pages, and groups are created to scam people or cause harm.
It's best to refrain from sharing information about you or your service member in public forums.

Only trust information that comes from official accounts. A great way to confirm if a social media account is legitimate is to go to the installation website and find links to their official social media accounts.

Noise Alert 📣💥
As part of the Fort Jackson Post Run kicking off Victory Week, the Fort Jackson Salute Battery will be firing Howitzer canons between 6:30 - 7 a.m. on June 8. The canon fire will be audible in the area outside of Fort Jackson near Forest Acres.
Unit runs are a long-standing military tradition that build camaraderie and are reminder that while each unit may play a different role, we all work towards the same mission of making American Soldiers.
