It’s Telecommunicator week! We are blessed to have a great team, the behind the scene masterminds that keep the ship running smooth! Thank a dispatcher this week for their hard work and continued dedication to the job!

Governor Mike Braun has officially proclaimed this week as Public Safety Telecommunicator Week in the State of Indiana.

Both our Director and Deputy Director previously served as telecommunicators, giving them a firsthand understanding of the complexity, training, responsibility, and stress that come with this often underappreciated role.

We’re fortunate in Whitley County to have not just one, but two outstanding dispatch centers staffed by incredible teams (the best, in our opinion!).

Happy Telecommunicator Week to those answering the phones and radios 24/7—especially Whitley County Sheriff's Department Dispatch and Columbia City Communications.

Here’s to the often-forgotten first, first responders!
