The runoff election is in May. I am offering my experience, hard work and dedication to our citizens as County Judge. I have spent 42 years serving our citizens as Emergency Medical Services and Deputy Sheriff and have enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you to all of you who have supported me so far and I ask that you continue to support me in May.

This being my first time to run for any elected office I must say it is exciting and talking to our citizens getting feed back on concerns and what they expect and want from the county judge has been fun. I do enjoy talking to people about this election and have enjoyed the positive feed back I have received. I promise to work hard to make Mitchell County better any way I can. I will try to see as many people as possible during this election. My work schedule will limit me some but I do look forward to visiting with as many people as possible.

I have heard several citizens asking each candidates opinion on economic development bringing businesses to our community. Personally I believe we should start with smaller businesses and fill those positions as we look at what property the county has to offer to other companies and that includes any buildings that could be used and made affordable to a business interested in coming here. I still believe we needed to try to obtain historical grant money to refurbish some older downtown buildings to make our town more attractive to businesses who want to locate here. I think working with the commissioners as well as city council members in all three of our cities we could work out ideas and plans to obtain businesses in all three towns which will benefit the county. I believe we can use inmate labor and those probationers doing community service to help keep the sports complex looking attractive and to attract teams to utilize it more. I believe we should also find some funding to help our existing businesses update and be more appealing to visitors. I have said before I would like to get our rodeo arena back in shape to possibly attract junior rodeo events which will bring people to our community. Due to housing issues I believe we should start small and keep growing.

As a long time resident and public servant I want to continue to serve Mitchell County as County Judge. I want to work to get Law enforcement the equipment and support they need to combat the drug problem, I want to work to bring more jobs to our community and I want to work with assisting our mental health patients to find the help they need to live productive lives.

As a candidate for County Judge I have enjoyed visiting with many of our citizens about different issues. I will continue to visit as many people as possible because I want to know what our citizens want and expect from the county judge. I appreciate all of the words of encouragement. We have many good candidates running for this office. I realize that the county judge can only do so much in his own but I also believe that working with the commissioners court and other entities we can accomplish great things. Once again thank you for the encouragement and support.
