This ball of feathers was discovered in Heyburn State Park by hikers who called BOPNW for help. Turns out our volunteers found 2 adult bald eagles entagled, still bound by each others talons. These territorial disputes can result in serious injuries. Luckily their fall was broken by a tree, as they plummeted to the ground.
After careful exam and a few hours in our Eagle Flight Run- both were released! It is bald eagle nesting season and it is likely they returned to their nests and mates!

Thank you to the hikers that found these birds and our amazing volunteers Shannon and her son William for making the trip to rescue them!

Golden eagles were in full superstar mode today ✨🦅

With glowing golden feathers catching the light and that confident, powerful stance, it’s easy to see why golden eagles are such powerful symbols of strength and wild freedom.

Their presence alone commands attention — bold, intelligent, and truly awe-inspiring.
