The Coeur d’Alene Public Library is proud to announce its recognition as Best Library of North Idaho in The Inlander’s Best Of 2026 edition. This year’s win was driven not only by the library’s strong community support and high‑quality services, but also by the success of its new Library Lovers yard‑sign campaign, funded by the Friends of the Library, which helped galvanize public enthusiasm and visibly demonstrate community pride throughout Coeur d’Alene. “Our community genuinely loves this library,” said JD Smithson, Library Communications Coordinator. “It’s the building. It’s the park. It’s the services and programs we provide. It’s the Library Lovers Campaign we launched this year. But most importantly, it’s our wonderful, dedicated staff who make this library the best in North Idaho.”
The yard‑sign initiative placed vibrant “Coeur d'Alene Library Lover” signs in neighborhoods across the city, strengthening the library’s visibility during the voting period and giving patrons a simple, joyful way to express support. The campaign served as a public affirmation of how deeply residents value their library and contributed meaningfully to this year’s recognition.
The Coeur d’Alene Public Library continues to serve as a cornerstone of the region, offering robust programming, innovative services, and a welcoming space overlooking McEuen Park and Lake Coeur d’Alene. Its growing outreach efforts, digital expansions, and partnerships reflect an ongoing commitment to meeting the community’s evolving needs.
