Get ready for adventure and dive into summer fun with "Finding Nemo"! Mobile County Parks Summer Movie Nights returns Friday, June 5, with a FREE showing at Bayfront Park.

Enjoy free, family-friendly movies under the stars each Friday through July 31 at parks across Mobile County. Movies begin at 8 p.m. Bring lawn chairs or blankets, and arrive early for a good spot.

In addition to Bayfront Park, participating parks include:
• Chickasabogue Park
• Escatawpa Hollow Park & Campground
• West Mobile County Park

Mobile County Parks celebrated the opening of a new 900-foot boardwalk at Bayfront Park. The Deepwater Horizon-funded expansion completes a half-mile ADA-accessible loop with two covered pavilions overlooking coastal marshland. Commissioners Randall Dueitt and Connie Hudson joined ADCNR Commissioner Chris Blankenship for Friday’s ribbon-cutting.

Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Commissioner Chris Blankenship led members of the Gulf of America Alliance Business Advisory Council on a tour of regional restoration successes Monday, including a stop at Mobile County Bayfront Park.

The group, meeting in Mobile this week for the 2026 Gulf Conference, visited the Bayfront to view progress on the Dauphin Island Causeway Shoreline Restoration Project, which will protect infrastructure and restore native habitats.

The visit allowed state leaders and industry representatives to see firsthand how environmental restoration supports the economic resilience of the Gulf region.

Mobile County Parks invites the community to the Summer Kick-Off Block Party, now taking place Sunday, May 3, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Chickasabogue Park and Bayfront Park will host a day filled with family fun, music, water activities and more.

Admission is free.

The Leadership Mobile Environment Seminar visited Mobile County Bayfront Park April 16 to learn about recent park improvements, progress with the Dauphin Island Causeway Shoreline Restoration Project, and the Mobile County Commission’s ongoing efforts to expand free, public water access.

The Mobile County Parks Department is taking advantage of the spring weather to test equipment for the upcoming Summer Movie Nights series.

Pack a picnic with popcorn, snacks and cool drinks, and bring a blanket or lawn chair to settle in for an evening under the stars. The free, family-friendly series will feature a variety of films at parks across Mobile County, offering something for all ages.

Pick your park. Pick your favorite flick. Come out a little early and get the best seats in the house!

The wait is almost over! Easter Eggstravaganza is tomorrow.

Join Mobile County Parks from noon to 3 p.m. at Chickasabogue Park, Bayfront Park or Escatawpa Hollow Park & Campground for an afternoon of family fun.

The children’s egg hunt begins promptly at 2 p.m. The Easter Bunny will be on site for photos. Admission is free.

Bring a basket and hop on over. We will see you at the park.
