Statement from the Town of Clifton Park Town Board
Councilman Zabed Manir, Councilwoman Nancy Bellamy, Councilman Mario Fantini
“The Town of Clifton Park confirms that the Article 78 petition filed by former Town
Attorney Paul Pelagalli has been formally withdrawn and discontinued. By order of
a Supreme Court Justice, the temporary court order previously issued in this matter
has been vacated, and the lawsuit has been brought to a complete and final end.
The case is closed, cannot be refiled, and there are no remaining legal barriers to
the Town Board’s actions.
This outcome brings the matter to a clean and orderly conclusion, without any finding
against the Town. Throughout this process, the current Town Board acted lawfully,
deliberately, and within its authority.
From the beginning, our focus has been on stability, continuity, and doing what is
best for the Town of Clifton Park. We followed the law, relied on sound legal
guidance, and kept our attention on governing responsibly.
The residents of Clifton Park expect their elected officials to act thoughtfully and
within the bounds of the law. That is exactly what this Board has done.
This matter was never about politics; it was about process, authority, and good
governance. This court order confirms that the Board acted appropriately and
professionally.
With this issue resolved, the Town Board remains focused on governing
responsibly, maintaining continuity of operations, and serving the residents of Clifton Park with professionalism and transparency.”
