Over the next few weeks, we will be conducting drivers training and testing for some of our members. This process consists of a written exam, equipment review, driving, and pumping scenerios.

As the weather warms up, we will be out conducting more training such as water supply, handline operations and much more.

Recently, we added another vehicle to our fleet. This vehicle will be used for sending firefighters to Training, Hazmat/Arson call outs, and will be available to replace our shift OIC or Chief vehicle when needed.

Next step will be the lights and sirens. Thanks again to Mayor Smith, Village Council, Finance and the residents for your continued support.

The men and woman of the North Randall Fire Department strive to deliver the best emergency medical services every day.

Some Fun Facts~

1. All of our Firefighters are EMS trained (which is very common).

2. We currently have 27 Paramedics and 12 EMTs on the roster.

3. Four of our Firefighter/Paramedics are EMS Instructors.

4. We are lucky to have an EMS Coordinator and an Assistant EMS Coordinator which are both Registered Nurses.

5. All Paramedics and EMTs work under an Emergency Room Physician which over sees the care we deliver (University Hospitals).

6. All Paramedics and EMTs are required to attend EMS continuing education throughout the year and are responsible to be current with local protocol updates.

7. Our fire engine is equipped with a Life Pak 15 heart monitor, CPR Lucas Device, a Medication box, and an EMS bag with general supplies. The fire engine isnt just to fight fires.

If our ambulance is out on an EMS emergency, and we recieve another at the same time, the fire engine will respond with personnel, and start treating the patient until a mutual aid ambulance arrives.

This is why having cross trained personnel is so important. We must be prepared and ready for any type of emergency that could be thrown at us.

North Randall Firefighters, without you, none of this would be possible. The time that you spend to cover shifts, time away from your families, and the dedication you have is something we cant thank you enough for.

To all Paramedics and EMTs, thank you!!!!

Over the past few months, we will be reviewing EMS skills and protocols. All members are required to be evaluated by one of our EMS Coordinators on each topic.

We are fortunate to have an EMS Coordinator and an Assistant EMS Coordinator which are both Registered Nurses.

Assistant EMS Coordinator Monica Carlton is heading up this project and doing an awesome job!!

Over the past several years, our fire department has been awarded by the Ohio BWC approx. $100,000. This money was used to purchase extrication and personal protective equipment.

Today, we are pleased to announce another grant approval from the BWC for $7,818.00. This will allow us to purchase additional items to help us while on scene of motor vehicle accidents.

On behalf of the North Randall Fire Department, we would like to thank the Bureau of Workers' Compensation for supporting Ohio fire departments.
