Yesterday our newest AmeriCorps members got to see their peers in action at Wilson Elementary! Small groups of 3rd graders presented their ideas for their revitalized school garden, and their excitement was infectious!
On March 16th we will be back at Wilson with Food Strong for a Day of Service to wrap up AmeriCorps week. We will be tearing down and preparing for new garden plans!

Check out the smiling faces of our Class of 23-24 AmeriCorps Members! They completed Day 1 of Orientation and learned what it means to be a community health navigator, started having discussions on what a healthy community is, and even had some competitive fun with a marshmallow challenge. Our partners at the MetroHealth Institute for H.O.P.E. hosted us at the Buckeye Community Resource Center for our ServeOhio Day of Service. Our AmeriCorps members and volunteers completed a beautification project at the entrance, cleaned up litter around the building, and distributed over 30 salad kits.
We even had law enforcement join in our fun, and maybe recruited a future AmeriCorps member!
Thank you to the Western Reserve Land Conservancy for lending us the gardening tools!
