It was so great to see some new, and returning, faces at our meeting yesterday! Here's what we covered in case you missed it:

1️⃣ Music City MigraWatch joined us virtually for a quick walk-through of what an ICE verifier does and how we can spread information and awareness, not panic. Give them a follow to learn how to sign up for their 2hr in person training!

2️⃣ We are looking to fill roles for a Grievance Officer (conflict mediation) and Chapter Steering Committee. You must be a member in good standing to be elected. DM us for more information!

3️⃣ Exciting socials & events coming up! Crafts & Games at The Crossroads Tavern on June 27 from 3-5pm; End the Grocery Tax canvassing; and Tenant Support on the 4th. Stay tuned for more info!

4️⃣ We are scheduling our first Socialist Night School Class for early July.

5️⃣ Our Mutual Aid Working Group has some exciting projects they want to work on. DM us if you'd like to be involved!

EDIT: We unfortunately have to postpone the Migra Watch training for a future date. Our regular meeting will still be Sunday at 1!

📢 Our next meeting is on Sunday, June 14th! Instead of meeting at our usual time of 3pm, we'll be starting at 1 at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library.

We'll have special guests from Music City MigraWatch providing an ICE verifier training to help us not spread false alarms,
respond to real enforcement in real time, and stand between our communities and harm.

We are very young small early peas, but we are growing! Clarksville Democratic Socialists of America started in 2025 as a branch of Middle TN DSA - Democratic Socialists of America. We are a political organization, not a party, that cares deeply that our society should be built for the working class and not the billionaires who control our country and elections.

We believe in building community with the people of Clarksville, fighting for labor and tenant rights, standing with our LGBTQ and immigrant neighbors, and protecting our environment.

Come to our monthly general meetings on the 2nd Sunday of the month from 3-5 PM at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library. Got ideas for building our coalition? We'd love to have you 🌹
