Two water oaks, finally freed 🌿

This huge invasive shrub had completely surrounded the trunks of these trees and would have eventually reached the canopy. Thanks to an amazing group of volunteers, the oaks can finally breathe again.

Join us for Second Saturdays at Forty Oaks Nature Preserve in Clarkston, Georgia as we continue restoring this urban forest together 🌳

Another beautiful Second Saturday at Forty Oaks 🌿

This month, we planted native favorites—oakleaf hydrangeas, azaleas, dogwoods, and redbuds—adding color and habitat for birds and pollinators. Small steps that grow into something lasting.

Thank you to everyone who came out and got their hands in the soil with us. Join us for Second Saturdays at Forty Oaks Nature Preserve in Clarkston, GA.

March brought another beautiful Second Saturday at Forty Oaks 🌳

We installed 9 community-built birdhouses, planted native shrubs like blackhaw viburnum and serviceberry, and cleared invasive privet to support local wildlife.

Grateful for our wonderful volunteers 💚

The birdhouses our community built last month are ready for their new homes. 🐦🌿

Join us this Saturday at Forty Oaks Nature Preserve. We’ll be installing birdhouses, planting native shrubs like American beautyberry for birds and pollinators, and picking up litter around the preserve.

A few hours outside helping care for one of Clarkston’s green spaces.

Everyone is welcome. Bring gloves if you have them!

The Clarkston community came together to build birdboxes for Forty Oaks Nature Preserve.

With guidance from and The Splinter Group, volunteers learned how to build simple wooden boxes that will soon provide nesting space for native birds here in Clarkston.

Thank you for the ongoing support and to our guest hosts and The Splinter Group for leading the workshop and sharing their expertise, and to everyone in the community who came out to build.

The birdboxes will be installed in Forty Oaks Nature Preserve later this month, creating new habitat for birds and another way for the community to connect with nature right here in Clarkston.

Big thanks to our MLK Day volunteers at Forty Oaks! 🌿
Because of you, invasive privet, ivy, periwinkle, and mahonia were cleared—making room for native plants and a healthier preserve. Service in action, community at work. We’re so grateful for you! 💚
