🎉🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸🎉

We had such a great time out at the parade today. Connecting with neighbors, meeting new friends, sharing lots of laughs, and enjoying the incredible energy of our community! Thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello and celebrate with us. ❤️

As we celebrate Labor Day, we’re also proud to recognize the generations of working people and the labor movement who fought for better wages, safer workplaces, reasonable hours, and the right to organize.

Democrats have long stood with working families and helped deliver important protections like the 40-hour workweek, minimum wage, overtime protections, Social Security, Medicare, workplace safety standards, and the right to collectively bargain.

Today was a great reminder of what makes our community special: people coming together, having fun, and looking out for one another.

📄 Transparency matters.

In a recent column, Supervisor Casilio stated that public policy decisions should be based on facts, transparency, and verifiable information. We agree.

That's why we're sharing the documents that were provided in response to FOIL requests regarding the Town Board's decision not to pursue a municipal garbage district.

In April 2023, the Town Board voted to seek proposals for a study on the feasibility of a garbage district. That study was never completed. When records were requested in 2026, the town produced only a brief email discussion with limited analysis.

Rather than telling residents what to think, we're encouraging everyone to examine the records and decide for themselves.

No one is asking for a garbage district to be approved without scrutiny. We're asking for a transparent process, complete information, and an opportunity for residents to evaluate the facts themselves.

In 2023 and 2025 the Clarence Town Board voted to do a feasibility study for creating a garbage district in town. They said the results showed it wasn’t feasible. But when faced with a FOIL request to see the study, they had nothing to show beyond one email. Glad to hear they are finally doing the study they voted to do years ago.

Why is trash pickup so expensive in Clarence? It’s a question more residents are starting to ask—and for some, it’s becoming a growing concern.
