Eliminate Unneeded Prescription Drugs During Take Back Day

Have expired or unnecessary prescription drugs that need to be gone? Clean out your cabinets and bring these over-the-counter or prescription medicines to the annual Drug Take Back Day at Anderson Center. The event is hosted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 at 7850 Five Mile Road.

Anderson Township and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office collaborate on this event, which provides a responsible method to safely remove unneeded medications out of circulation.

Not accepted at the site are liquids, aerosols, inhalers, needles or (plastic/glass) bottles. Place pills and tablets into a zip-lock style bag for disposal. For information please contact Crime Prevention Officer Kevin Wanner at [email protected], or 513-688-8618.

Keep Kids Buckled in For Safety

Correct use of a child restraint system saves lives! Many child-related injuries and deaths can be prevented by proper use of car seats, boosters and seat belts.

Statistics from 2023 show 43% of children killed in crashes were unrestrained.

Some parents and caregivers find installing a car seat or booster correctly a daunting challenge.

Do you know how to correctly install safety seats? Do you know if you are using the correct kind of car restraint? It’s important to know whether your child is using the correct seat for age, weight and height.

Anderson Township’s free program teaches you how to complete the task and maximize safety for your child. Inspections are performed by trained technicians with the Anderson Township Fire and Rescue Department.

UPDATE 3/6/2026 - Due to recent heavy rains, the completion date for this work has been extended to 3/17/26.

Sutton Road Closure – Between Two Mile Road and Eversole Road

Waterline work on Sutton Road continues to progress; however, this winter's snow and cold temperatures impacted the previously posted road closure period. The Hamilton County Engineer's Office has announced that Sutton Road, between Two Mile Road and Eversole Road, will remain CLOSED through March 17, 2026, weather permitting.

For this phase of work, the detour will continue to be from Sutton Road to Kellogg Road, then to Four Mile Road, then back to Sutton Road, and vice versa.

The Hamilton County Engineer’s Office is planning to resurface Sutton Road from the City of Cincinnati line (north of Luwista Drive, which is north of Salem Road) to Kellogg Road in the coming months. Later this year, Anderson Township will be constructing sidewalks on the east side of Sutton, from Salem to Luwista Drive.

National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day

Today is National School Resource Officer (SRO) Appreciation Day, and we celebrate our two SROs serving Anderson Township.

Anderson Township has allocated a portion of voter-approved safety service levy funds, dating back to 2001, to provide the first SRO position. That commitment has totaled more than a $2.5 million investment to make schools safer and promote students’ sense of wellbeing while in school.

Former Hamilton County Sheriff’s Officer Bob Goettke was the only school resource officer, serving the nine Forest Hills School District campus and Immaculate Heart of Mary School, from 2001 until his retirement in 2021. Cpl. Ryan Wolf assumed these duties in 2021.

In the summer of 2023, Forest Hills Schools, working with Anderson Township, provided much of the funding to add a second officer (with a vehicle funded by Anderson Township) and Officer Jeremy Dwyer joined Wolf.
