The Cincinnati Emergency Communications Center is your connection to police, fire, medical, and non-emergency services. This page is not monitored 24/7.

If you would like to report a non-emergency by phone, dial 3-1-1. Dial 9-1-1 to report emergencies. When you call 9-1-1 in the United States, your call is answered by a local Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). In the City of Cincinnati, that PSAP is the city's ECC. In addition to the call-taking function, the ECC serves at the dispatch center for the Cincinnati Police Department. In a typical y

ear, ECC call-takers answer over 350,000 calls on 9-1-1 lines, and handle over 400,000 calls on non-emergency lines. Those calls result in approximately 300,000 police incidents, 16,000 fire incidents, and 60,000 emergency medical incidents each year.

The ECC joined fellow public safety and community partners to connect with residents, help families register for Smart911 and CincyAlerts, and to help folks practice calling 9-1-1 for emergency help.

Parts of Cincinnati experienced rapid and severe flooding last night, as we start to clean up and prepare ahead of possible thunderstorms tonight, please consider these safety tips and resources to keep you and others safe.

After flooding, take steps to protect your home and your health: document damage, dry out affected areas, disinfect surfaces, and properly dispose of contaminated materials. Wear boots, gloves, and goggles, and avoid food, water, or using household items exposed to floodwater. You can use 311Cincy.com to request bulk item collections for damaged items in need of disposal and report flooding. If you would like a flood clean up kit, the American Red Cross is providing them, contact them at 1-800-RED-CROSS - (1-800-733-2767).

For 9-1-1 call takers during Independence Day weekend, "fireworks" is a word heard again and again. But every call about fireworks represents a real concern, potential danger, or emergency.

🎉 Many firework-related incidents are preventable. The safest way to celebrate is by attending professional fireworks displays and choosing safer alternatives like glow sticks, confetti poppers, or silly string.
📞If you or someone else is in immediate danger or needs emergency assistance, call 9-1-1.
