🌿 Brush Pick-Up Reminders 🌿

Brush pick-up is intended for **residential trimming only**. If you hire a tree contractor, they are responsible for removing all debris from your property.

🚫 The leaf machine is **not used in the spring**.
✔️ Please place all leaves in **biodegradable bags**.
✔️ Also use biodegradable bags for:

* Vines
* Root material
* Thorny branches
* Landscape material (weeds, grass clippings, timber)

❗ Items placed in cans or containers will **NOT** be picked up.

🪵 Brush Guidelines:

* Place neatly stacked piles near the road by **7:00 AM every Monday**
* Piles should be no larger than **2 feet high and 5 feet wide**
* Limbs must be **8 inches in diameter or smaller**
* Place **cut ends together** for easy collection

🚧 Please keep sidewalks, roads, and drains clear of debris.

10:25pm - the problems have been repaired and power is fully restored. To our customers, thank you for your patience and understanding. Thank you to our friends from neighboring systems for giving up your Sunday to help us in our time of need. And of course, thank you to our own electric crew, Ed, Kenny, Brandon, and Gavin, for your continued dedication to our village.

8:45pm - the problem has been identified and is being fixed, but it will still be a couple hours or more. We identified other potential problems and are taking advantage of this time to fix them as well. A huge thank you to Bergen, Fairport, and Spencerport who are still here helping us get back up and running.

5:28pm - the problem is still being investigated and primarily affecting the area of S Main between the railroad tracks and the Commons. Customers on S Main St, Fitch St., North St, Howard Ave, Richmond Ave, and parts of W Buffalo St are on the same circuit and will experience power going off for short periods as work continues. Crews from Bergen and Fairport are assisting. We thank all those affected for your patience as we work to restore power as quickly as possible.

3:45pm - the problem is in the underground lines in the village center. The guys are pumping out the vaults after yesterday's heavy rains and will begin making repairs soon afterward. It will still be some time, though.

2:00pm - there is still another problem that is preventing full restoration. Crews are working to locate the problem but it will take some time.

1:19pm - Power has been restored

We are aware of a power outage affecting parts of the village. Crews are on their way to assess the problem. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.

Happy Earth Day! 🌎

The Village of Churchville is proud to be a certified Climate Smart Communities Bronze Level community and a Clean Energy Communities Level 3 participant. We continue to implement initiatives that not only reduce our carbon footprint, but also help control costs for our residents.

From improving energy efficiency to making sustainable choices in our operations, we remain committed to protecting our environment while strengthening our community.

We encourage residents to celebrate today by getting outside, picking up litter, planting something new, or simply taking a moment to appreciate the natural beauty around us. Together, we can make a lasting impact—today and every day.

🚦Green means go! These green light items are good to go in your recycling bin as long as they are clean and empty.

One of the biggest sources of confusion is the recycling symbol—many people assume that if they see it, the item can go in the recycling.

But, plastics should be recycled by shape instead.

🟢There are 5 acceptable shapes: bottles, jars, jugs, tubs and to-go cups. If it’s not one of those items, it can’t be recycled.
🟢And let’s not forget all of those other paper, glass and metals items that can be recycled!

We’ve received quite a bit of rain over the past couple of days, and it’s showing in Black Creek. The old concrete pillar below the dam—typically fully exposed—is now being overtopped by the higher water levels.

According to the USGS gauge south of the dam near Carroll St., Black Creek is at 7 feet as of 10:00 AM today (4/2).

Please use caution around the creek as conditions can change quickly with elevated flows.

❄️ Electric Billing Cycle Reminder ❄️

Attention Electric Customers:

Your upcoming electric bill covers the billing cycle from January 20, 2026 – February 20, 2026. This period included some of the coldest temperatures of the winter season.

Colder weather typically leads to increased energy use for heating, which may result in higher-than-usual bills.

👉 Please refer to our post made on February 5th for more information on the factors that contribute to increased electricity costs during this billing cycle.

If you have questions about your bill or would like information about payment options, please contact our office — we’re here to help!

Stay warm and stay safe! 🔌
