Convenient Local Drop-Offs for TVs, Paint & More
There are more convenient options than ever for responsibly disposing of hard-to-recycle items. Highlighted below are just a few free, no-appointment options, with dozens more available throughout our community.
TVs can be recycled at a nearby Goodwill!
Participating Goodwill of the Finger Lakes stores accept televisions (working or not), and through Goodwill’s partnership with Sunnking, non-working electronics are responsibly recycled for FREE. When accepted items can be resold, they also help support Goodwill’s mission-based programs and services across the Finger Lakes region. Residents can use Monroe County's interactive locator map to find even more electronics drop-off locations by visiting www.monroecounty.gov/ecopark.
Paint can be recycled at a nearby store!
Many local retailers—including Ace Hardware, Sherwin-Williams, and PPG Paints—participate in the New York State PaintCare program and accept leftover paint and stain for recycling without an appointment. PaintCare also offers free pickup services for businesses with larger quantities of paint. You can find the nearest participating location by visiting www.paintcare.org/states/new-york/.
Medication can be dropped off at a nearby pharmacy or mailed back for free!
Participating police stations, CVS, Walgreens and more pharmacies accept unwanted medicine, no appointment needed! To find a drop-off or to order FREE mail-back supplies (for medication, auto-injectors, and inhalers) visit www.medtakebacknewyork.org or call (844) 482-5322.
Batteries can be recycled at a nearby store!
Participating stores like Lowes and Home Depot recycle lithium-ion and rechargeable batteries for free. Staples stores recycle single-use alkaline batteries for FREE (note ecopark does NOT accept alkaline batteries for recycling.) For more drop-off locations visit www.batterynetwork.org/locator/.
