8 years ago today, this animal came to us after being taken out of the wild at 4 weeks old and was attempted to be kept as a pet. Wildlife never makes a good pet! Due to the actions of the humans who took him, he was deemed non-releasable because he was too comfortable with people. Not only is Ike an incredibly handsome gray fox, but he's also been an amazing ambassador for his species, teaching people around the state to leave baby wildlife alone. In most cases, their mom is close by. As much as I appreciate every second I get to spend working with Ike, he should have had the chance to be a wild fox. Happy 8 years Ike, I hope we get at least 8 more years to show people how awesome foxes are!
