We have an urgent call to action that we need your help with! Call your U.S. Senators today to demand that they reject any bill that increases funding for state-sanctioned violence perpetrated by ICE.

We’ll break down the so-called Big Beautiful Bill and discuss the bill’s implications on our taxes and finances, its impacts on our access to clean air and water and the emerging green jobs sector, and more.

The topic is “From Blueprint to Takeover: How the Powell Memo became Project 2025.”

We will provide a historical context for the corporate takeover of our democracy, and how it is dictating the policies of the current federal administration.

We are excited to announce our Representation in Action teach-in series, where we’ll explore topics related to the national political climate we’re living in and the actions of the federal government.

In a representative democracy, our elected leaders are supposed to represent us - but right now, its now working for us. In this series, we’ll build a shared understanding of the times we’re living in, how we got here, and how we take action to hold elected officials accountable to US!

Thank you, , for inviting us to speak with your students!

Today, WCRJ & CRGE presented our work to students and faculty at Moraine Valley Community College. We discussed community organizing, racial justice, and issues related to formerly incarcerated people. During the panel, we discussed how these issues relate to their lives and future careers.

We were honored to have the opportunity to share space with future leaders! We hope the presentation inspired students to think critically about social justice and consider how they can contribute to positive change in their communities.

This Mobilization Monday, we’re asking folks to call on their legislatures & Governor Pritzker in order to defend the historic passage of the Pretrial Fairness act from Trump’s lies.

Despite Trump’s efforts to vilify Chicagoans, data shows that there has been a significant reduction in crime. This includes a drop of more than 30% in homicides, a 35% reduction in robberies and a nearly 40% decline in shootings since last year.

The reality is that the call to end pretrial fairness is a call to punish those without economic security and racial minorities.
