At CAPE, learning is rooted in exploration. The Artist/Researcher Model brings students, teachers, and artists together to learn through art, inquiry, and collaboration, nurturing creativity, critical thinking, reflection, and resilience throughout the process.
In this video, hear from CAPE teaching artist Asya Dubrovina as they reflect on how the Artist/Researcher Model informs their teaching practice and enhances the classroom experience.
Asya has been a CAPE teaching artist since 2021 and is an artist and filmmaker whose work explores the intersection of poetics, place, and lived experience. They earned their BA from Keene State College with a concentration in Visual Studies and Moving Image, and their MFA in Moving Image from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Through her nonfiction films, Asya investigates the space between the personal and the political, with a particular interest in how places hold memory, how sound is experienced, and the materiality of film.
