It's an honor to serve this city in any capacity. I really want to thank every single person who supported my city college candidacy and who has reached out to encourage me to continue in this type of public service. I am humbled by your faith in me and the kindness that you've shown me in so many ways. Thank you.

The luxury that I have at this point in my life is self-determination - and I know how lucky I am to enjoy that luxury. To me, the most meaningful and effective way that I can make the most of that benefit is to serve my community as an attorney and as an advocate, not in the political realm. Social justice isn't the unique province of politics; the law, and community lawyering, is powerful and necessary and doing this work gives my life meaning.

Did you know that San Francisco is more segregated than our California peer cities? We also have an older population with fewer San Franciscans being under the age of 18 than any other peer city. Here's an updated demographics benchmarking dashboard that is available to the public - I thought it was really interesting because I will always be a data nerd, but I think a lot of people would be interested in this information if they only knew about this data's existence.

In the updated Demographics dashboards, learn more about:
• How San Francisco compares to peer cities in terms of population, density, race/ethnicity, age, and educational attainment.
• Residential segregation in San Francisco and other peer cities.
• Housing data, income, and cost of living in San Francisco and our peer cities.

Thank you.

With the votes counted, I am honored to have won a place on the City College Board of Trustees. I pledge to continue to make sure our values and our community are reflected at OUR community's college.

And now that the election is behind us, I want to take a moment to THANK YOU!

These two words really can't capture the tremendous gratitude and appreciation that your support has meant to me. I thought I knew what would be involved in a campaign, but I had no idea how different it is to work on a campaign versus being the candidate.

I didn't realize how it would feel to ask for, and accept, help from strangers as well as elected officials, friends, and family. Running for office pushed me out of my comfort zone and I learned something new every single day of this campaign. It was a joy to meet so many neighbors who love this City and see the value and the gift that is City College of San Francisco. Thank you for believing that I could play a part in strengthening and supporting this San Francisco institution.

Your kindness, generosity, and encouragement made every early morning and late night worthwhile.

Every time I started to feel overwhelmed by the juggling act of working outside the home full-time, running for office, serving as a trustee, and being a mom all at the same time, I thought about those of you who organized or attended a house party, voted at an endorsement meeting, got to a campaign rally, knocked on doors, or passed out literature during your precious "spare" time. I thought about the many women who told me that they'd always thought about running for office but didn't feel that they could. I thought about the young people, like my campaign manager Jeffrey Chuong, who gave my campaign their time despite being full-time students or carrying their own family commitments. I thought about how the students of City College deserve to know that they are worth every cent of investment in their futures.

Your time, hard-earned dollars, and belief in me are not taken for granted. I will work hard every single day to continue to deserve your support.

Happy weekend. Cooked with the kids (chicken tinga tostadas, turkey and spinach lasagna, bbq chicken and grilled romaine). Watched While You Were Sleeping with the daughter (I love how vintage that movie was, Mommy). Went for long walks (precincts and lit drops - Props E and A!).
