I recently talked with CBS Chicago on my efforts to help keep roadways around O'Hare airport safe...which means cracking down on idling cars.

Illinois State Police, IDOT and the tollway are working to put cameras within a half-mile radius around the airport.

The cameras were supposed to be installed last year, but lawmakers accidentally left the Illinois Department of Transportation out of the legislation.

Simply put, the Education Freedom Tax Credit would make career and technical education programs more accessible for Illinois students, setting them up for success in the workforce. This is a win for young people, job creators, and Illinois communities. All Governor Pritzker needs to do is opt-in to the program.

Tonight, a partial lunar eclipse will be visible across Illinois, with about 93% of the moon passing through Earth’s shadow at its peak. Clear skies should provide a great opportunity to catch the eclipse, which will peak around 11:12 p.m. Central Time.

Clear skies could make for a great view of tonight's lunar eclipse across Chicagoland. And summer isn't finished yet, with temperatures possibly reaching 90 degrees as August comes to an end.
