Today, on Memorial Day, we honor and thank every veteran who stepped forward, raised their hand, and gave a piece of themselves in service to this country.

Too many veterans come home and face invisible battles — housing instability, isolation, mental health challenges — that can be just as formidable as anything faced in uniform.

We are grateful to know nearly 20 veterans among our current clients — and we carry in our hearts the countless others who we have served over the years.

The Night Ministry believes every person deserves to be seen, heard, and met with compassion — and that commitment applies with full force to those who have served. We pledge to keep walking alongside you, past midnight and into tomorrow.

We are extremely grateful to the volunteer physicians who give their incredibly valuable time to go out in the field with our Outreach and Health teams — bringing vital healthcare directly to our unhoused neighbors and those living in extreme poverty. 🙏

A very special shoutout today to Dr. Ryan, who was out with our team this week, delivering compassionate, life-changing care where it's needed most.

A huge thank you to Joyce Chacko, Board Member at The Night Ministry, for inviting us to the Forvis Mazars Open House in their spectacular new space in downtown Chicago! The energy in the room was electric, thanks in no small part to the amazing live Chicago blues and soul sounds of the Street Jaxkson Band.

Since 1976, The Night Ministry has helped nearly 3,000 clients secure housing, and every day our team works tirelessly to find safe, affordable options for our unhoused neighbors. But the reality is clear: supply is woefully short of the need.

Advocacy matters. Policy matters. YOUR voice matters.

This month, we're calling on our community to speak up, show up, and push for change. Because everyone deserves a safe place to call home. 💙

A small upgrade can make a big difference.

Thanks to a Capital Improvement Grant from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Palos Heights, The Night Ministry was able to replace more than 50 office chairs for our team. After careful research and planning, the new chairs were delivered this week, bringing immediate comfort for our dedicated staff.

It’s a meaningful investment in the people who work every day to provide compassion, care, and connection across Chicago. We’re grateful for partners like Good Shepherd who help make this work more sustainable.
