DuSable Park, named after Jean Baptiste Point du Sable, Chicago’s first non-native settler, will be a site of remembrance and celebration of Chicago’s early history. The $500,000 public art commission for the future park site will uplift Native voices, honoring Indigenous inhabitants’ continued presence and their foundational role in the origins of Chicago.

Native artists, especially those with a connection to this region, are strongly encouraged to apply.
