Today you would’ve been 26 years old and I can’t help but wonder where we’d be if you weren’t taken from us.

I remember when Mom brought you home and how small and innocent you looked in your car seat.

Getting to see you grow up and become your own person and us getting closer together was one of my greatest blessings that was cut way too short.

What I wouldn’t do for a “can you pick me up” text, or a “are you home” text. We had so many plans from moving in together to going back to Moroleon just the two of us because of how annoying the rest of the family was to us 😂

We bonded so much during the last months of your life and for that I will be forever grateful.

To the world you were just one person, but to us, you were our son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, and our friend.

I should’ve kept you home that night.

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to protect you like your big sister should have. I’m sorry that the people you thought were your friends failed you. I’m sorry this world failed you. I’m sorry the police has failed you.

YOU MATTER AND WE WILL FIGHT FOR YOU FOREVER.

You deserved so much better than what this world offered you and I am so sorry.

I don’t know if we will live to see justice being served here on Earth, but, I know that the people responsible WILL answer to God and justice WILL be served.

I will love you and miss you forever, little brother.

I hope you’re having a ball up there.
