Dear Neighbor:
My name is Carrie Weletz and I am asking you to write in my name to serve as your Ward 4 Council Member on Monday, May 3rd or by absentee ballot.
My husband and I have lived in the Old 4th Ward since 2015. We moved here when I was pregnant with our first child, starting off as renters but right away we knew we wanted to make Cheverly our forever home. A year later we bought our current house. In the meantime, we’ve convinced friends to move here and love raising our family in this tight-knit community.
Still, Cheverly can and should be better.
No town resident should learn about potential development projects impacting local traffic patterns from surveyors conducting a traffic study.
No child living in Old Fourth Ward should have a different boundary school from their friends and peers living in the other wards of Cheverly.
And our Town Council can be more efficient, more communicative, and work harder for you, Cheverly neighbors.
If you choose to write in my name to serve as your Ward Four Council Member, here is what you can expect of me:
● True transparency in government
● Efficient and streamlined communications
● An advocate with unique professional experience who can help advance ongoing reforms in the Cheverly Police Department
● A uniting voice on a Town Council that has been unnecessarily fractured in recent years
As a mom of two young boys, I would work to address Cheverly’s education issues, improve our air quality, and ensure traffic safety for all residents. As a professional, I have worked as a lawyer focusing on public defense in the District of Columbia for the last nine years. I can bring that energy and experience to serving Ward 4.
I truly care about our town and you, my neighbors. That’s why I’m asking for your trust, for your vote. To ensure a brighter future for Cheverly, we have work to do. I’m the woman to do that work. Please write in my name as your Ward 4 Council Member.
Yours,
Carrie Weletz
