Cheswold fire deparment

Cheswold Fire Company, along with the Hartly (51) and Clayton (45) Fire Companies were dispatched to a house fire in the development of Whitetail Run near Kenton. Engine 43-2 arrived to find a single-story home with a working fire in the attic over the garage. 43-2 laid a supply line from a hydrant and advanced a hose line into the attic. Engine 51-3 arrived and took a second hose line into the house to check for extension. The fire was extinguished after heavy damage was done to the attic and roof over the garage. One firefighter and one civilian suffered minor injuries.
Units responding: Engine 43-2, Rescue 43, Brush 43-0, Engine 51-3, Rescue 51, Engine 51-5, Ambulance 51, Quint 45, Engine 45-3, and Medic KM 6.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office investigated the fire.

Assistant Chief Whitby was in command.

At 430 am, Cheswold Fire Company, Kent County Paremedics, and the State Police helicopter were dispatched for an accident with entrapment on Brenford Road near Mt. Friendship Road. Fire Chief Jeff Brown arrived and confirmed a car into a tree with one subject heavily entrapped inside.
Rescue 43 and A-43 arrived and began extrication and patient care. The subject was removed after extensive work and transported by ambulance to a landing zone nearby. The patient was flown to Christiana Hospital.

Units on scene: Command 43, Rescue 43, Engine 43-4, Ambulance A-43, Medics KM6 and KM5, and DSP Trooper 4 helicopter and road units.
