We appreciate our informal education partners! So many local organizations and individuals are willing to host our Museum, Field, and Community Education Students for our one- and two-credit classes. We are so proud of the work our students do, but they couldn't do it without Sultana Education Foundation, Echo Hill Outdoor School, and the many other parks, museums, outdoor spaces, and other organizations who give their time!

Our future educators learn about the importance of informal education and experiential learning, and a trip to Washington, D.C. served as a culminating experience for students in EDU 401 Principles of Secondary Teaching. They visited Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture and will be designing pre-, during-, and post-field trip learning experiences for students in their content areas (English, history, music, business, and theater).

Because our primary destination is a heavy, contemplative experience, and because some of our students had never been to DC, we also popped into the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History for a quick side quest and paid tribute to President Lincoln at outside Ford's Theatre before heading back to WAC to put it all together!

Congrats to Dr. Brice! She has been a great partner of ours in her time at Sudlersville Middle School and Queen Anne’s County High School and we look forward to a continued productive and educational partnership. We also love seeing Queen Anne's County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Kibler there to celebrate - a graduate of our very own program!

We were excited to renew our formal partnership with Kent County Public Schools and Queen Anne's County Public Schools recently, emphasizing our reciprocal work with pre-service teachers - and adding a focus on dual enrollment courses for HS students and a commitment to civic & community engagement.
