Last on the list of our mainline apparatus is Engine 62

E-62 is a 2025 HME engine/ tanker with a 1600gal tank sitting on HMEs signature Ahrens- Fox chassis. In late 2024/ early 2025 CVFD saw the need to add an additional apparatus to the department. With wait times upwards of 2 plus years CVFD took advantage of HMEs stock program and had Engine 62 delivered in about a month! Since going into service engine 62 has proved an extremely valuable workhorse for our department and communities.

TRUCK-61
Current Truck 61 is a 2007 Sutphen SL75 (75ft ladder) with a 350gal water tank

Also pictured are 2 former units also designated as truck 61

Picture 2- 1978 Sutphen 85ft tower
This unit was sold to Calcutta Fire Dept

Picture 3- The original truck 61. A 1950s model Peter Pirsch and Sons 50ft Tele- Squrt. This unit was originally and engine with a 45ft Bangor ladder mounted on it. Members saw a need for an elevated ladder with a water stream attached to it and thus the first truck was retro fitted with a squrt boom from a wrecked unit from out west. There are many memorable fires shared between all of these units over the last 60 plus years

Over the next couple days we are going to give you guys a look at our current mainline apparatus. All photos are credited to Willie Brown Photography who was generous enough to swing by and get some updated pictures for us.

Starting out is our oldest piece of equipment.

🔥📛MULTIPLE BRUSH FIRES📛🔥

Multiple brush fires are currently occurring in Hancock County.
All fire departments in the area are actively engaged in firefighting efforts and clearing fallen trees.
Due to record-high winds, trees are falling onto power lines, causing sporadic fires throughout the county.
The record high winds are exacerbating the situation, making fire control more challenging for our crews.

📛We urge everyone to exercise caution and avoid outdoor cooking or using open flames📛

Yesterday evening, Lawrenceville, Chester, and Newell fire departments were alerted for a fully involved structure fire with reported entrapment. New Cumberland and new Manchester fire departments were added to the assignment as well due to the reports. While enroute dispatch notified all responding units that the homeowner made it out of the residence. Upon arrival units confirmed a fully involved “A Frame” style structure. Multiple hand lines and a Blitz Fire were set up to drown the fire. After several hours on scene all units cleared without issue.
A special thank you to
