NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON MENTAL ILLNESS (NAMI) Chesapeake at this time has stopped all actives and programs except FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP!!

The NAMI Chesapeake FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP meets 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. The next meeting is this Tuesday 17th of March at 6:30 pm to 8 pm. We meet at Chesapeake Integrated Behavior Healthcare (formerly Chesapeake Community Service Board). Located at 224 Great Bridge Blvd. Chesapeake 23320. We meet in Room 186.

NAMI FAMILY SUPPORT is a peer-led support group for family members, caregivers and loved ones of individuals with a mental illness. The hallmark of NAMI support group is the effectiveness of the collective knowledge and experience of the other participants.

It appears that we have another winter weather advisory going into effect tomorrow through Wednesday with expected snowfall to be somewhere between 5 to 10 inches of snow. Thus, tomorrow's support groups are cancelled.

After watching the winter weather advisories, we have made the decision to cancel tomorrow's general meeting. The driving conditions may not be safe, and, the safety of our members and participants is a top priority.

We will be having the family and peer support groups next Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at 6:30 P.M. at the Chesapeake Community Services Board. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
