Events will include an animal presentation, fishing demonstration by a KDWP Biologist, archery range, fishing clinic, and more.
Saturday is also FREE ENTRANCE day to Cheney State Park!

Astronomy Night at Cheney State Park! Tomorrow, Saturday Oct 21st @ 7PM. Come enjoy the beautiful fall weather and a little stargazing. Club Nova from WSU will supply telescopes and a limited number of snacks. No entry fee will be charged, but please make sure each vehicle has a vehicle permit.

JOB OPENING: Natural Resource Officer (Cheney, KS)

This full-time position is located in the Parks Division at Cheney State Park.

A Bachelor’s degree in park or natural resource management is required or other related degrees as determined by the Department. Experience may be substituted for education as determined relevant by the agency.

This position requires the employee to be certified as a law enforcement officer by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Commission. If an applicant is not currently law enforcement certified, our agency will send the successful applicant to the required training. Applicants do not have to be law enforcement certified to apply.

Starting pay is $21.65/hr; immediate group health and life insurance; retirement; optional deferred compensation, dental and vision options; holidays; and sick, vacation, and parental leave.
