Kelly for Chelsea I’m a Chelsea native, currently serving on the Chelsea School Committee as the youngest member and only teacher on the board. I am running for re-election.

I would like to continue championing Chelsea students and empowering students by amplifying their voice. I fought for a Safe Haven Resolution, which passed unanimously, to ensure that students in Chelsea are protected and feel as though they are in an inclusive community. I also worked hard to pass the Freedom of Speech Resolution and am looking for innovative ways to collaborate with key leaders

in the community to find funding and programming for students that is rooted in social justice. To ensure students were prepared for their academic school year, I helped plan a back to school event where families and students received free backpacks and school supplies. I’m incredibly active in Chelsea, the community where I was raised. Most recently, I organized citywide donation drives for Hurricane Maria relief efforts, which generated over 500,000 pounds of food and water being sent to Puerto Rico. I am currently a Learning Specialist at Excel Academy Charter High School. It is an honor to continue to advocate, strategize, and fight for our students and community.

Proud to have joined Governor Healey in Chelsea for the signing of the PROTECT Act.

This law helps make sure our schools stay focused on education, our hospitals on caring for patients, and our courthouses on delivering justice.

Huge congratulations to our own Rep Judith García for helping lead this effort, and thank you to the members of the Massachusetts Black & Latino Caucus for your advocacy and partnership in getting this across the finish line.

A special thank you to my aunt, Gladys Vega—a true shero and someone I’ve always looked up to. Thank you for never stopping the fight for our immigrant communities. Your leadership continues to inspire me and so many others. La Colaborativa

Orgullosa de haber acompañado a la Gobernadora Healey en Chelsea para la firma de la Ley PROTECT.

Esta ley ayuda a garantizar que nuestras escuelas sigan siendo espacios para aprender, nuestros hospitales lugares para cuidar a quienes lo necesitan y nuestros tribunales espacios donde se haga justicia.

Felicitaciones a nuestra representante estatal, Judith García, por su liderazgo para hacer realidad esta legislación. También quiero agradecer a los miembros del Caucus Legislativo Negro y Latino de Massachusetts por su compromiso y colaboración para sacar adelante esta importante ley.

A time was had in Denver!🏆

Last week, 63 of us had the honor of representing Chelsea at the All-America City Awards, and we proudly brought home our fourth All-America City Award.

I’m so proud of our community, our partners, and everyone who puts in the work day in and day out to make Chelsea stronger. It was an honor to represent our city and celebrate everything we’ve accomplished together.

Chelsea, this one is for you. 💙

La semana pasada, 63 de nosotros tuvimos el honor de representar a Chelsea en los premios All-America City, y con mucho orgullo trajimos a casa nuestro cuarto reconocimiento como All-America City.

Me llena de orgullo nuestra comunidad, nuestros colaboradores y todas las personas que, día tras día, trabajan para hacer de Chelsea una ciudad más fuerte. Fue un honor representar a nuestra gente y celebrar todo lo que hemos logrado juntos.

63 residents. One city. One unforgettable 5-day journey. 🏆

Last week, we traveled to Denver to represent Chelsea as a finalist for the All-America City Award. Together, we shared Chelsea’s story, highlighted our work around civic engagement, food security, and sustainability, and proudly brought the trophy home.

We are officially a 4-time All-America City Award winner!

This trip was more than the award. We explored Denver, visited the Rocky Mountains, and built deeper community among ourselves along the way.

A special shoutout to Chelsea MA Police Department Build a Base, The Hub, and La Colaborativa Food Pantry for paving the way with their hard work, compassion, and commitment to our community.

Chelsea, we did it again. 💙

63 residentes. Una ciudad. Un viaje inolvidable de cinco días. 🏆💙

La semana pasada viajamos a Denver para representar a Chelsea como finalista del premio All-America City. Juntos compartimos la historia de nuestra ciudad, presentamos el trabajo que hemos realizado en participación cívica, seguridad alimentaria y sostenibilidad, y con mucho orgullo trajimos el trofeo de regreso a casa.

¡Hoy, Chelsea es oficialmente una ciudad ganadora del All-America City Award por cuarta vez!

Este viaje fue mucho más que un premio. También tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer Denver, explorar las majestuosas Montañas Rocosas y, sobre todo, fortalecer los lazos entre nosotros como comunidad.

Un agradecimiento muy especial a Build a Base, The Hub y la despensa de alimentos de La Colaborativa por abrir camino con su compromiso, dedicación y servicio a nuestra comunidad.

Monday night’s City Council meeting was filled with so many moments worth celebrating.

We proudly welcomed seven new firefighters to the Chelsea Fire Department, including the inauguration of Chelsea’s first Latina firefighter. Representation matters, and it was an honor to witness this historic milestone for our city.

It was also wonderful to catch up with one of our incredible elementary school principals and to celebrate alongside Matt Frank, who was recently recognized by the Commonwealth for his leadership and commitment to uplifting the LGBTQ+ community in Chelsea. His work continues to make our city more welcoming and inclusive for everyone.

Congratulations to all who were recognized. Chelsea is stronger because of people who choose to serve, lead, and build community every day. ❤️

Last night, the City Council approved the zoning needed to move the Fitzpatrick-Prattville redevelopment forward. This is a long-overdue investment in housing that has not seen this level of change in generations.

I proudly voted yes because Chelsea families deserve safe, modern, and dignified homes. I also urged that as this project moves forward, we prioritize responsible contractors, union partners, and local workers.

With over 200 laborers in our community, Chelsea residents should have the opportunity to help build Chelsea, earn livable wages, and be part of the future we are creating together.

Housing, jobs, and community investment must go hand in hand.

Anoche, el Concejo Municipal aprobó los cambios de zonificación necesarios para avanzar con el proyecto de reurbanización Fitzpatrick-Prattville. Esta es una inversión necesaria en viviendas que no había visto este nivel de transformación en generaciones.

Con orgullo voté a favor porque las familias de Chelsea merecen viviendas seguras, modernas y dignas. También enfatizé la importancia de que, a medida que este proyecto avance, prioricemos contratistas responsables, nuestros socios sindicales y trabajadores locales.

Con más de 200 trabajadores de la construcción en nuestra comunidad, los residentes de Chelsea deben tener la oportunidad de ayudar a construir Chelsea, ganar salarios dignos y formar parte del futuro que estamos creando juntos.

La vivienda, los empleos y la inversión comunitaria deben avanzar de la mano.

Happy Father’s Day to the best dad a girl could ask for. ❤️

My dad shows up for us every single day. Whether it’s a car issue, a plumbing problem, helping with an interior design project, hanging a political sign on a fence, being my plus one at an award ceremony, or even coming with me to a wedding—he’s always there.

Papi, te quiero mucho. Gracias for always answering the call, for loving us the way you do, and for showing me what a good man looks like.

I’m blessed beyond words to have you as my dad. 🫶🏼

The Garcia sisters stopped by the Mary C. Burke Complex School last week and got to see our nephew in action as Benito, aka Bad Bunny. ❤️

We visited during the Wax Museum, where students dressed up as famous figures and brought them to life for the day. We also got to visit classrooms and check out the amazing FIFA-themed doors throughout the school.

Such a fun visit and a great reminder of the creativity happening in our schools every day!
Las hermanas García visitamos la Escuela Mary C. Burke la semana pasada y tuvimos la oportunidad de ver a nuestro sobrino en acción como Benito, mejor conocido como Bad Bunny. ❤️

Visitamos durante el Museo de Cera, donde los estudiantes se disfrazaron de personajes famosos y los representaron por un día. También recorrimos los salones de clase y admiramos las increíbles puertas decoradas con temática de la FIFA.

¡Qué visita tan divertida y qué orgullo ver tanta creatividad en nuestras escuelas!
