As a leader in the army, I want you all to know that true strength is not only about courage on the battlefield, but also about integrity in every decision we make. It’s about holding ourselves accountable, even when no one is watching, and leading by example. Integrity means being honest with our brothers and sisters in arms, staying committed to our values, and standing up for what is right, even when it’s difficult. Together, we move as one, protecting each other not just with our actions, but with our unwavering sense of honor. Let's lead with pride and integrity.

Sustaining excellence!
During a small ceremony yesterday, Maj. Gen. Douglas Sims II, the commanding general of the 1st Infantry Division, presented the 511th Field Feeding Company, Special Troops Battalion, 1st Sustainment Brigade, and the Whitside Dining Facility with the Best Thanksgiving Dining Facility trophy for the outstanding food, service, and festive displays they provided last November.
"You raised the bar for expectations," said MG Sims to the gathered culinary specialists of the 511 FFC. "We appreciate what you do every day. It is not lost on us how hard you worked then and how hard you work now. On behalf of the sergeant major and I, this is the trophy. Display it proudly"
Sustain to victory!

Lt. Gen. Douglas A. Sims presided over the ceremony by offering opening remarks to introduce Chief DeLong and later administering the oath of office to him. Lt. Gen. Sims, who had come directly from the Pentagon and was visiting Aberdeen Proving Ground for the first time, touched on the focal points of service and sacrifice during his remarks. He indicated that the four overseas service bars on Chief DeLong’s arm not only signify two years spent deployed (six months per bar), but how those bars also mark the passage of time away from his family who made a sacrifice so that he was able to accomplish his mission. It is a sacrifice that has been rewarded, and Chief DeLong’s family deserves full credit for their commitment to our country.Lt. Gen. Douglas A.
