Building Soldier proficiency!
Today, 1st Support Maintenance Company, 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, , conducted Traffic Control Point (TCP) training as part of their week-long squad training exercise (STX) where the company will focus on building Soldier and leader core-competencies by practicing basic warrior skills and tasks.
TCPs are normally part of an inner or outer security ring and are established to facilitate conducting vehicle searches focusing on weapons, explosives, and other contraband.
"Traffic Control Points are a critical part of our security effort and it is common to pull duty at a checkpoint as part of a gate guard detail, National Training Center rotation, or during deployment," said 1LT Alexander Terrill, the Maintenance Platoon Leader. "By training TCP operations, it gives Soldiers a better understanding of their role and their importance to the security of the mission. From a training perspective, it combines teamwork, communication, and flexibility. It’s an ever-evolving challenge, and I believe it makes Soldiers that are much more confident and resilient.
Sustain to victory!
