North Carolina Life & Liberty PAC

North Carolina Life & Liberty PAC The North Carolina Life & Liberty PAC is dedicated to protect the basic liberties of the people in our state.

The North Carolina Life & Liberty PAC is a state-level political action committee dedicated to the protection of innocent life from conception, adherence to limited government principles and adherence to the North Carolina and federal Constitutions. The PAC was founded in February 2013 by pro-life activist Kevin Hayes to amplify the voice of pro-life constitutionalists in the state by providing a

unified front of activism around certain key issues. The PAC plans to take part in the legislative process through advocating various legislative measure from pro-life bills to nullification efforts. At the same time NC Life & Liberty hopes to provide useful information to the public about the dangers of abortion, including medical dangers and the implications on individual liberty, as well as resources on gun rights, equal political competition and nullification. The North Carolina Life & Liberty PAC plans to work with other organizations on common ground issues and welcomes others to join us in advocating for a better, more free North Carolina for our generation and those to follow.

A great story in The News & Observer on Prof. Omar Ali's North Carolina Independents and the need for ballot access reform to allow the rising generation of independents to have their voice head intead of crushed at the ballot box.a

Omar Ali, a historian and associate professor of African American Studies at UNC Greensboro, believes "we're at the very beginning of a transformation in American politics" and he's helping shape it as co-founder of North Carolina Independents, a nonpartisan association of independent voters focused...

"Janet Crepps, an attorney for the Center for Reproductive Rights, said the law banning abortions at six weeks 'poses a very immediate threat to virtually all women seeking an abortion in North Dakota.'"

No Mrs. Crepps, abortion is what poses, always, an immediate threat to a human being, the child and the mother. One through murder, the other through likely psychological and emotional turmoil for years to come. Roe v. Wade is not the law of the land, not constitutionally speaking. North Dakota, like North Carolina, has every right and duty to protect the life of the unborn regardless of the unconstitutional court decision of Roe v. Wade which cannot apply to either state.

BISMARCK, N.D. -- A federal judge on Monday temporarily blocked a new North Dakota law that bans abortion when a fetal heartbeat is detected – as early as six weeks into pregnancy, calling the law "clearly invalid and unconstitutional." U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland in Bismarck granted a…

Currently the Voter Freedom Act Study Bill (HB794) which could lead to real reform is stuck in the Senate Bill Graveyard (aka Committee on Rules & Operations) were it was sent once the Senate received the bill. We need your help to urge Senator Tom Apodaca to either give HB794 a hearing in Rules and send it to the floor or to re-refer it to a Committee like Judiciary I where it will be given the light of day to get to the Senate Floor.

"Yesterday, the House Election Committee took up HB794, Voter Freedom Act of 2013. During the meeting, the Committee decided to turn HB794 into a Study Bill due to some unanswered questions and concerns from some members. The altered bill, a Proposed Committee Substitute for HB794 which passed unanimously, now directs the Joint Elections Oversight Committee to study all issues covered by the original Voter Freedom Act of 2013, including ballot access requirements for political parties and unaffiliated candidates."

"The Voter Freedom Act of 2013, HB794, has been added to the House Elections Committee calendar for their meeting tomorrow, May 8, at 1:00pm in room 643 of the Legislative Office Building..

We’ve been told that there are some “questions” about the bill, but we don’t know what they are or who is asking as of yet. The possibility has also been raised of turning the Voter Freedom Act into a “study” bill on North Carolina’s ballot access laws to “keep it alive” this session. We don’t want that to happen, because it will kill the bill."

“Any other election law reform begins with the right to vote, because the right to vote is the right by which all other rights are protected.”

“We realize there have been dozens of election law bills introduced during this session,” said Jordon Greene, Free the Vote president and founder. “Other election issues, including voter ID, straight-party voting, partisan judicial elections, and campaign financing, may be important, but we believe the Voter Freedom Act of 2013 goes to the heart of the matter.”
