Today, on the anniversary of his passing, we remember Sergeant Robert David Loughran-Dickson of the Royal Military Police, who was tragically killed in action on 18 November 2009 while serving in Afghanistan.

He served with honour, courage, and unwavering dedication. Sixteen years on, we pause to reflect on his sacrifice and to ensure his memory lives on. ❤️

Happy 100th Birthday to D-Day veteran Cyril Booth!🎉🎂

Cyril joined the army at age 18 and trained as an electrical engineer and signalman. His first overseas operation was on June 12, 1944 in Normandy. His duties were to repair anything electrical, including the tank radios on the front line during the night.

Thank you for your service, Cyril. We hope you enjoyed your birthday!❤️

🎖️🇬🇧 Join us in wishing D-day veteran John Roberts a very happy 100th birthday!

On D-Day, he was a sub-lieutenant, aged 20 on the destroyer HMS Serapis. They escorted the minesweepers that had to sweep the English Channel to Normandy, as the Germans had laid thousands of mines.

He served in the Royal Navy until 1978 when he was a rear admiral.

He puts his milestone down to “keeping very fit” and growing up in North Wales, saying “I have always tried to keep very fit.” He received a birthday card from the King and Queen.

After serving, he became a fighter pilot, flew a Sea Fury in Korea, captained an aircraft carrier, and headed the Fleet Air Arm, before retiring.

Meet Dorothea Barron, a true inspiration from WW2.

As a WREN, she taught semaphore signalling to troops ahead of D-Day and even went to great lengths to join up by lying about her height and putting cardboard in her shoes!

Dorothea recently attended the 80th Anniversary of D-Day in Normandy.

We thank you for your service Dorothea 🇬🇧🫡
