Healing Vine Harbor, Inc.

Healing Vine Harbor, Inc. We are dedicated to empowering and uplifting women. We offer workshops teaching independent living skills. Our goal is to open a residential program.

We need your help to help the hurting. Healing Vine Harbor (HVH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves at risk women (ages 18 and older) who are not prepared for independent living. Because they have aged out of the foster care system, their homes or current housing situation, they are no longer safe or stable. They lack preparation or resources for the future and end up in shelters, j

ail, or bounced around from place to place. We are a safe space for single homeless women who are hurting! The mission of Healing Vine Harbor is to reduce the number of single women living in shelters or unsafe situations, providing a pathway out of poverty to ensure self-sufficiency. We transform lives one woman at a time through independent living skills such as financial literacy, educational preparation, employability readiness, mentoring and much more. Our vision is to meet the needs of as many women as possible, community by community, providing housing, spiritual awareness, individual and group counseling, relationship building, as well as educational and vocational preparation. Community service, money management and cultural experiences will also be included as part of this holistic approach. Our objective is to help change the mindset of our women and to create a society whereby women are not statistically counted as part of the homeless population. HVH’s approach will be “hands on” creating methods to reach and nurture through repetition and example. We are confident that the ladies we serve will do exceedingly well if they practice the tools they learn. Knowing they are prepared to face any challenge, learning they have value, they can move forward and live independently with self-assurance. Providing workshops and programs that will benefit society as a whole, but specifically our ladies, will teach them that their success does not hinge on others but on sharpening their skills and finding their inner strength. We are in the process of raising funds for our residence. Our goal is to open a residential facility by 2023. Currently we do not have a residence. If you are looking for housing in Charlotte currently, please call 211 and they will refer you to housing resources. Through mentoring, we have witnessed lives changed, seen drop outs become college graduates, seen petty criminals become working citizens and seen others live on their own and become mentors themselves so we know this works. With the monies we raise, we currently offer monthly workshops, provide short term emergency assistance, connect our women with needed resources to help them sustain independent living and avoid eviction or return to poverty. Donations will also be used towards start-up costs i.e. purchasing a house, securing furniture and equipment, providing room and board as well as hiring staff to provide the services needed above. Donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent. Thank you for helping Healing Vine Harbor make a difference in the lives of others. We ask that if you are unable to give, you simply Like and Share our fundraising link https://healingvineharbor.kindful.com/ in hopes that we can spread the word, reach our goal and Transform Lives One Woman at a Time! Together We Help Them Ascend.

We’re raising $20K in order to serve 20 women. Will you join us?

Every gift, from $50 to $5,000, helps ensure that the next woman who needs us finds us ready.

$150 covers emergency childcare costs so a woman can attend critical appointments or interviews
$400 covers a month of transportation — often the difference between keeping a job and losing it
$1,000 covers emergency utility support or a security deposit gap — keeping a woman housed through a critical moment
$2,500 provides comprehensive housing stabilization support for one woman navigating a setback

She came in guarded. Today she knows she can make it.

A year ago, Vanessa came to Healing Vine Harbor in a transitional housing program — discouraged and not sure who to trust.

Here’s what she told us: “HVH has taught me that even though changes may come, I can stay focused, use my resources, and not shut down.”

Recently, Vanessa was laid off. Before HVH, that would have sent her spiraling. Today, she has the tools, the community, and the stability to keep going — for herself and for her grandchildren. That’s what this work is for. 🌿

Together, we ascend - and this Healing Vine Harbor Day, we’re climbing toward $20,000. Will you join us?

Today, we celebrate:

The impact we made in the last year: 28 women who stayed housed and the 15 clients who were able to maintain full-time employment with health benefits.
The mentors who showed up.
The donors who believed.
The community that said: no one faces this alone.

And today, we ask you to be part of what comes next.

Give at healingvineharbor.kindful.com to help us meet our goal of raising $20K to serve 20 more women. And share this with someone who cares.

💜 With Respect and Remembrance 💜

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Americo “Louie” Questell on December 1, 2025. Louie was the beloved father of our Executive Director, Tracey Questell.

Louie was a man defined by compassion, faith, and unwavering devotion to his family and to others. He spent more than 35 years serving people in their most vulnerable moments as a psychiatric nurse, and he showed up in the same way for his family, friends, and community, always with patience, kindness, and love.

Louie’s legacy lives on in the way Tracey leads Healing Vine Harbor and in the care, dignity, and hope we strive to offer every woman we walk alongside.

We invite you to hold Tracey, her mother Connie, and their entire family in your prayers, thoughts, and hearts during this time. Your love and support mean more than words can express.

As Louie’s favorite singer, Johnny Mathis, reminds us: life is a song worth singing. Louie’s song will continue to echo through the lives he touched. 💜

If you feel called, memorial donations may be made to Healing Vine Harbor in honor of Louie’s life, helping us continue this work with compassion and care.
