DEPLOYMENTS: may 2014 I was sent to Afghanistan to support Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and traveled by helicopters to leatherneck, Kandahar, and Dewire. I was away for almost 7 months from all my family including my husband!

Let me start off with this! It's not like the movies !! I didnt see anything crazy wasnt getting blown up all the time and getting shot at. Everyone's experience will be different depending on the job (MOS) you have in the

The feeling of coming back and people having so much gratitude for what you just did is the best feeling ever I remember getting off the plane and there was a tunnel of people just clapping and fire trucks and I was feeling famous almost lol But nothing compared to seeing my husband again and my family.

It made me appreciate the small things again and it was a great learning experience I will never forget. Only a few make the decision to serve there country and do something better with there life. What are you waiting for?

TRAVEL&ADVENTURE: San Clemente Island, supporting 13th MEU. What the "field looks like" : We slept in 2 man tents and experienced ocean view in the mornings. Traveled on an to get on the island (Landing Craft Air Cushion aka hover craft) and ate MRE (meals ready to eat) the whole time. Its fun and sucks at the same time!!

ABOUTTHATLIFE: some will never understand how the can really set you up. is a prime example on how many of yall are feeling right now.

-friends going to college
-you havent even attempted to look
-your gonna "work for a year"
-your just gonna go to CPCC and then transfer

I know joining the military can be intimidating cause of the news and movies BUT thats why you do your OWN reserach. IF YOU ARE GETTING INFO FROM FRIENDS OR FAMILY THAT HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED MILITARY 1ST HAND thats your first mistake.

Let me not only tell you but show you how the Marines can get you up outta and get you motivated to persue anything in life.
