The Charlestown, Memorial Day Parade Committee ๏ฟผregrets to inform the community that due to the anticipated inclement weather conditions tomorrow, we will be canceling our anunual Memorial Day Parade.

We understand this event is a meaningful tradition for many and appreciate everyoneโ€™s support and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our participants, volunteers, and community members.

We thank all those who planned to attend and join us in honoring and remembering the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country this Memorial Day.

The Charlestown Memorial Day Parade Committee continue to hold a memorial ceremony with color guard and rifle salute on Sunday May 24, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Cross Mills cemetery (located adjacent to the Cross Mills Library). The ceremony will be repeated at the Mill Pond Brook bridge and at the Charlestown Air Memorial in Ninigret Park. This will take place rain or shine. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend these ceremonies.

Charlestown Memorial Day Committee is proud to announce that Joseph Dolock will be the Grand Marshal of this year parade. Mr. Dolock has severed on the Committee for 21 years. He served in Vietnam as a combat officer in 1968 through 1969. He will be sharing his views of what is like being in combat and the men he served with. The parade is honored to have Joseph Dolock as the Grand Marshal this year. Thank you for your service.
