Last night's results were not what we hoped for, but the voters of House District 116 showed up in force to have their voices heard.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported this campaign. From the volunteers who knocked doors and made calls, to the donors who invested in our vision, to the voters who placed their trust in me; I am grateful beyond words.
While we did not achieve the outcome we sought, I remain proud of the campaign we ran. We focused on issues that matter to working families, veterans, parents, and seniors. We conducted ourselves with honesty and respect, and I believe our community is stronger for having these conversation
Clay Middleton for SC House 116 and his team ran an outstanding and honorable campaign and I wish him success as he moves forward. Our district deserves effective leadership and a representative who will put the community first. Clay is the best person to represent SC 116 moving forward. Clay and his family are a class act.
I have so much respect for Radia Baxter as well. She also ran a competitive and honorable campaign. I'm so happy to know her through this adventure.
Public service doesn't begin or end with an election. I remain committed to serving District 116 and helping make our community stronger in whatever ways I can.
